Off the grid, but not off the planet. Everything you need is here. Joe is a fantastic host. I traveled through late and he answered my phone call, gave me great directions, met me at the entrance and showed me around. He even offered to help get me setup if needed when it started to rain. Highly recommend driving 2 miles off the highway to this simple hideaway. GPS and Apple Maps spot on for the address.
Joe was a great host and has worked hard to make his campsites comfortable. The camper had a comfortable bed and was warm. Note it had no kitchen facilities and a slow trickle of water in the sink. The outhouse was down a slight hill. For a 75 year old an easy walk. Joe ensured paths were well lit at night. Road into Joe's property was a challenge at the very end for about a tenth of mile. However it was a dry day and our Rav4 made it with no problem by going SLOW. He kept roads on his property well groomed.
I was looking for something between actual camping and a hotel for a recent motorcycle trip. I stayed in the bus for four nights and it was great. Joe is a nice guy, his dogs are really friendly (though they are still getting used to motorcycles), and his property is clean, quiet and unique. I loved the off-grid aspect; the bus’s system had no problem charging my phone, watch, and multiple GoPro batteries each night. I could see how the road could be challenging for some low cars or street bikes, but I was on a dual sport so it was actually fun lol. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a camping experience but still want a real bed at the end of a day of exploring this beautiful part of Utah!
Super quiet location with great access to local trails. The host Joe was very helpful in getting oriented on what to do in the area. Definitely recommend staying at least a few days. Driveway was a little long but that's all part of the experience of being out in nature.
Indian Canyon Ranch is one of the best camping places I’ve been to in my life! Sleeping in the American yellow school bus was truly unique experience. Whole place is well prepared and offers everything you need for a comfortable stay. Joe greeted us in Polish which was really nice, he explained everything and we had an interesting conversation - thank you Joe! Oh, I have to mention the nature: beautiful dark sky full of stars during the night and during the day amazing views of the mountains. If you like nature and camping - it’s a place for you to stay! I hope I will be able to come back there again for a longer period of time!
Unforgettable is the word. Joe was incredibly welcoming and lax. Tent pad was perfect for us and we were even able to do our dishes after a week of backpacking. Shower was an awesome experience. We’ll be back!
The owners here is awesome and takes really good as r of his guest. N for his price and what he offers it the best deal in town definitely would recommend them . Thanks again for caring 😊
