Services Offered

Indian Pond Campground provides a thoughtful selection of services designed to enhance the traditional camping experience while maintaining a strong connection to nature:

  • Diverse Campsite Options: The campground offers 27 available sites, catering to both tent campers and RVs. Visitors can choose between highly sought-after "Water View Sites" (13 available) and equally appealing "Wooded Sites" (14 available). This variety ensures options for different preferences and vehicle sizes.

  • Site Amenities: Each campsite is equipped with essential comforts, including a fire ring for campfires and cooking, and a picnic table for outdoor dining. Many sites are "back-in" and can accommodate vehicles ranging from 10 feet up to 35 feet long, depending on the specific site.

  • Clean Bathhouse and Showers: Reviews highlight the cleanliness of the facilities, with the campground providing "Dump/Filling Stations, Laundry and Showers." There is a bathhouse with restrooms, hot showers (which require quarters to operate, ensuring availability and efficient use), and vault toilets.

  • On-Site Store: For convenience, there is a "Campground Store" that strives to offer "quality products and service." This is a crucial amenity in a remote location, allowing campers to pick up essentials or treats without leaving the grounds.

  • Wi-Fi Zone: While embracing a quiet camping atmosphere, Indian Pond Campground also offers a "WiFi Zone" located outside the campground store. This provides a designated area for internet connectivity, giving campers the option to stay connected when needed, without pervasive Wi-Fi at every site, which preserves the "get away" feel.

  • Dump/Filling Stations: These facilities are available on-site, providing convenience for RV campers.

  • Laundry Facilities: For longer stays, the presence of laundry facilities is a welcome amenity, allowing campers to refresh their clothes.

  • Pet-Friendly: Indian Pond Campground is explicitly pet-friendly, allowing Mainers to bring their beloved furry companions along for their outdoor adventures.

  • Family-Friendly Environment: One reviewer specifically mentioned, "I think it would be a great place to bring the family in the Summer," indicating a welcoming atmosphere and suitable facilities for family vacations.

  • Remote Yet Accessible: While offering a true "get away" feel due to its location, the access road is surprisingly good, making it easier to reach than some other remote Maine campgrounds.

  • On-Site Convenience: The presence of a campground store and a Wi-Fi zone (at the store) provides key conveniences without detracting from the natural setting of the individual campsites.

  • Outdoor Activities: Beyond camping, the area around Indian Pond offers opportunities for fishing, hiking, and enjoying the peaceful pond environment. The broader West Forks region is known for activities like whitewater rafting on the Kennebec and Dead Rivers, and extensive ATV and snowmobiling trails.

First time going and we will be back! The camp ground wasn't opened when we went on Mother's Day but the nice lady at the gate let us in to check it out. The dirt road getting there is better then most paved roads and the campsites seemed really cool. I think it would be a great place to bring the family in the Summer.
