The north part of the reservoir is BLM land. Makes for nice boondocking near the water. It’s a fun off road drive where ground clearance is important but people drag their trailers and boats up there so I guess it’s not too bad? Please pick up after yourselves as BLM lands are not regularly maintained.

During the right time of the year and for the right activity I think this place could be great. We went labor day weekend so it was super hot and there were probably 10 other groups there with ATVs and dirt bikes that were loud, sick if that's what you want but if you want quiet it's probably not the place. The reservoir is really beautiful though and I think if you optimized for spending as much time as possible on the water and you're chill with some noise, it would be excellent.

The drive to this place is very long and difficult. Not too many shade trees. But if you like to be isolated and far from people, this place might be right for you. Nature is beautiful and very unique. People do fish but don't see any big ones.
