Abundant wildlife. Be prepared for the skunks and thieving squirrels. Don't forget the sunscreen (year round), it snuck up on us in mid November. Trails are wonderful with a multitude of different types of landscapes. A few primitive spots could use some work, but the lake sites were a fantastic alternative

Beautiful park and everything was great even with cold 37degree weather but the only thing I wish we could have done, is have a camp fire. The burn ban was in effect so no fire for s'mores... Oh well, despite that inconvenience the family had a great time enjoying the beautiful lake kayaking and had time for some quick trail hikes.

It’s a beautiful park! We enjoyed hiking on the rocky trails and canoeing. The water of the lake was not very clear actually and was kinda greenish. We swam a little bit until my husband noticed a bunch of baby leeches-looking creatures latched on his foot… we were disappointed on that and felt very gross, but otherwise, it was fun doing other activities.

Spring break camping and birthday celebration in one of the best and beautiful state parks in Texas, Inks Lake State Park. It was a very cold spring break, but as always our Solo Stove fire pit kept us warm and cozy day and night, enjoying games and good conversations around the bonfire 🔥. We loved our campsites, very spacious and well maintained, close to restrooms and park store, with a nice view to the lake and close to the trails. We definitely will come back again to enjoy swimming at the lake in summer.

This park is a lovely gem with a consistently level lake, so there's no need to worry about the water level when you visit, though water does sometimes get quite warm. This is one of the best park stores I've ever been to! They have plenty of supplies and you can rent pedal boats, kayaks, and canoes. There is more than one playground for the kiddos, miles of trails with lovely views, and fishing piers. The large number of sites allow for a variety of options, but unfortunately, the sites are not full hookups.
