Inwood Park & Campground

We stayed two nights because our RV broke down. It was a great location to be delayed. Great place to swim and kayak. And the park attendant was friendly and very helpful. He lent us tools and a hose and called ahead to a store to ensure they had what we needed.

The train.and hwy traffic is loud. I didn't consider the train noise before staying. Site #20 has light from the light post shining directly onto to it, so position your tent with that in mind if you stay there. The site has no trees to tie a rope to dry out your tent from the morning dew. My car separates me from my neighborhood, otherwise no privacy. It's an affordable place along the road, but I couldn't sleep with the train blowing throughout the night.

Booked online, for a one night stop over on drive through, reasonable price, very little information at time of booking regarding sites, location, and campground amenities. Has a Playground(far from campsites), Sani dump, outhouses, shower buildings, beach and is dog friendly. 30/20 amp power and water on sites. Did not see a way to purchase wood…? Location google maps was slightly off…watch for signs on road. We were not able to pick or see available sites though upon arrival had a gentlemen follow us in and direct us to an available site that we could get our unit backed into. Sites have water-non potable, and 30 amp power hook up included, power box was in a weird spot for our unit but we had a cord so no issues. We had a beautiful site overlooking water with a sunset view. Lots of Mosquitos so be prepared, and even saw some fireflies. Pretty quiet over all with some hiway noise, but not too much, and train in the distance. Happy with this campground and will use again in future.

We hadn’t originally planned to stay here, but when we had some car issues, we turned off the highway and into this charming little campground. The office was already closed for the night, so we used the self check-in. I thought it was a great little system they had; signing in with a sign in sheet that’s posted outside the office, and either dropping the money in their mail slot or by E-transfer. Lovely little lake in the middle of the campground with a trail/road going around it. The campsites are all fairly close to each other with not a lot of trees in between to provide privacy, but luckily we were there at a quite time of the year, so had almost the whole ground to ourselves. Would recommend!

Great place to pull off the highway for a rest, but even better place to stay for a day, a week or a month! Every year we come here, they have added or improved something! We've traveled all over USA and Canada, and nothing compares to the beauty and tranquility of Inwood Park. There are lots of bonus features: an awesome playground and beach, paved walking/biking trail, shower house and dumping station. Electric and non-electric sites are available. Prices are great! Come and visit Northern Ontario's best kept secret!!
