One of the first Gila campgrounds I stayed at during the Early Times, plenty of space and shade Edit: I just spent four nights at Iron Creek...the kids at #13 left smoldering logs in their fire ring, several folks beat a huge dead log for firewood, and some lady cut a bunch of branches off a tree. No signal (TMO), tried to rain but failed miserably. Ran out of water so I'm back in Silver.
We went there for a picnic and to checkout the fall colors before winter. It's a nice picnic area, but it needs some tlc.
Spent the weekend there and the views were amazing. Plenty of restrooms, tables, grills, and just over all a great time. My son had a blast. He had me walking for over 2 hours straight and heβs 3 π
Great place to pitch your tent but can get crowded in the weekend. (Labor day) We were there for two nights and the second night and our neighbors were up until 4:00am partying and otherwise beautiful weather and clean campground.
Great free camping or day trip spot with fire rings and picnic tables with several public restrooms. Easy access just off the road but you will go up past 8,000 feet if you come over Emory Pass. There are twelve camping spots that are about 150' a part with a small creek that runs parallel with the camp sites. Great scenary in the fall as the leaves change color.
