I am so happy we found this place! The owners and his daughters are so nice and helpful. We visited on thanksgiving with our dogs and camper vans. The place is HUGE. We got great deals on some cool gear and the trails were well maintained for our dirt bikes. There were easy ones and difficult ones. The bathroom/shower facilities were very clean and also heated which was awesome because it was a cold day. We are going to make this our new thanksgiving tradition!

Iron Mountain is a blast and one of my favorite parks to go ride at! I go every chance I get and they have a map you can get for free BFG OnTrail app via QR code at the front desk and it works amazing didn’t get lost a single time all day!! Highly recommend to get the map and explore I had no issues with cell service anywhere on the trails so the map never let us down. Point your phone at a trail head and it acts like a compass and shows you on the map real time which trail is which! The single track dirt bike trails are my new favorite being like a Harescramble race through the woods. Don’t forget to stop by the restaurant for a bite during the day every time I’ve been there to eat it’s been delicious! Highly recommend Iron Mountain for anyone looking to have a good time don’t listen to all the negative Karen’s in the comments. They DONT accept CASH make sure to have a CARD.

This park has totally transformed since the first time I visited. Before, it was not mapped at all, full of ridiculous mud pits designed to force you to get stuck and use their ridiculous pull out service, and had no facilities. New management as of a few years ago has ensured all those things are remedied! The trails are definitely not for the faint of heart of 4x4s, and you need to know the limits and characteristics of your rig before you come. But there is a lot of fun stuff, a well organized AND mapped trail system through the BFG App with the same features as GAIA and OnX, and lots of different types of terrain. Mud, ruts, off camber sections, all of the above. My friend @spicygx and myself @bowmanoverland had a ton of fun in our 4Runner and his GX470. This was our 2nd or 3rd visit with the new management, and I am looking forward to the next one. A word of warning: if you are coming here intending to rent or use a SXS or 4wheeler, please obey all rules that you will sign before being admitted for any visit on the waiver. We personally witnessed the consequences this weekend of not obeying those rules.

We go riding a lot of places so it is easy to understand how people may want more technical trails like up at Windrock, Tackett Creek or Black Mountain. But, if you are just looking to ride alone and don't have a crew with you you will be fine here as long as you stay out of the massive mud holes. Overall, we had a nice three hour ride without a worry in the world. Pro tip: if you bring your own side-by-side trailer it to the lowest parking lot in the park before you start riding.
