Customer Reviews
This place is a dump, I mean honestly. The bathrooms are clearly never cleaned, the docks are not repaired or maintained, everything is dilapidated. Wish the wonder shop cared to fix it up and make it great again…. Or even just good. They should sell it to someone else who will hopefully care about this resort/marina/property
Very rundown, pictures aren't accurate, felt dirty, building is in terrible shape, paint peeling everywhere, didn't feel safe, my partner cut his foot open on their poorly maintained porch. We mistakingly locked our selves out of our room in the middle of the afternoon and had to wait 5.5 hours to be let back in (no one on the premises or nearby). The manager had 0 remorse for any of this and wouldn't even refund me for one night. Definitely not worth the ~$160!!!!
Only reviewing their public laundromat: Clean laundromat, especially compared to the larger one on the main strip. The woman who runs it was kind & informative when I spoke to her. It is $3 for washing & I believe $4 for the dryer - they all ONLY take loonies though, keep in mind. They sell detergent pods for $1 and as it's part of the bar & resort, I imagine that they could give you change, but I can't guarentee that. Hours of operation are 9am-5pm Tuesday-Sunday.
So this has to be one of the worst smelling places, the pictures are outdated and or touched up. The must have some kind of scam going as we booked through Expedia (for two nights) this property should never be listed on Expedia or anywhere else. After we checked in, we entered the room smelled like what I can only describe as a combination of mold, cigarettes and rotten meat. We barely were in the room a few minutes and my allergies flair up. We checked the beds they were infested with something (bed bugs) so we didn't stay long enough to find out. We didn't want to even stay one night, so we ended up going to the Ukee Peninsula Motel that same night. This place should have been condemned years ago. Check the other comments and do yourself a favor stay elsewhere.
I was concerned regarding the negative reviews this place has but overall it is a good accommodation for the price you pay. The upper floor has only stairway so not accessible for the disabled people. Note that the building is quite old and power outlets have become a bit loose my phone charger kept falling from the receptacle so i had to use the power socket in the kitchen. Bathroom and living room were clean. It seems it recently got painted from inside. We stayed with two kids and had no problems. Our room had kitchen too so we also cooked breakfast. No complaints from our end as we did not want to pay $500/night in other lodges. I guess negative reviews are from people who want to pay less but expect a 5 star service.
