we were here for 2.5 days and upon research, we decided to check out this island too. Isle of Palms features a beautiful beach, delicious dining options, a marina, and endless activities on and off the water! it is located on one of the more upscale, family-friendly, and non-commercialized beaches in the Charleston area. With over 600 feet of oceanfront, this county park is a great place to enjoy a day at the beach. The park has picnic tables and grills, so beachgoers can pack a picnic lunch or grab a snack at the concessions stand. The park also boasts boardwalks, sand volleyball, and a children’s playground Fee: No fee but Parking is $15 for a full day. This is a popular park, so visitors need to arrive early in the summer, especially on the weekends, because parking is limited
I recently visited Isle of Palms County Park, and it was such a relaxing and enjoyable experience! The park is beautifully maintained, with everything you need for a great day at the beach. The beach itself is stunning—soft sand, clear water, and plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the ocean breeze. Even though it’s a popular spot, it never felt overcrowded, which made it easy to unwind and take in the natural beauty. The amenities really stood out. The restrooms were clean and well-kept, and having outdoor showers to rinse off the sand was a huge plus. There’s also a convenient snack bar if you want to grab a quick bite, and plenty of shaded picnic areas to take a break from the sun. Parking was easy and reasonably priced, which is always a bonus. The staff at the park were friendly and helpful, making the visit even more enjoyable. What I loved most was how family-friendly it felt. Whether you’re visiting with kids, friends, or just by yourself, the park offers something for everyone. It’s the perfect spot for a beach day or even just a quick getaway to enjoy the ocean. If you’re near Charleston and looking for a clean, accessible, and beautiful beach, Isle of Palms County Park is a must-visit. I can’t wait to go back!
Love this little beach spot. We come here different times throughout the year and it’s always enjoyable. Clean restrooms, nice parking that’s not too expensive,(free if you have valid handicap plate or placard) and it’s a well maintained beachfront. Highly recommend
A great place for beach. We visited it on Wednesday, not crowded. Have shower, changing station, picnic table, playground and restroom. Well worth $15. Safeguards serve well. Area under the pier is a good spot to avoid sun burn. Walked from the county park to the south end of island. felt so good to walk on soft sand under sea breeze.
Beautiful park with access to the beach and a large parking lot. Nice changing rooms for beach goers in the summertime as well
