J & J's Getaway Campground & RV Park

Great place off the beaten path a bit. Great views, awesome scenery. Not alot to do but it was quiet and we enjoyed it. Fields of the woods is close by also! We stayed in site one, which was nice and level and had concrete however. The one picture on the mountain range by its self is over in the 20s lots. Beautiful view, still on the creek! The host are nice and helpful! Great vibes great views, easy drive to town and multiple hikes and water falls within a hr drive.

This is a beautiful, low key, place to camp. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The campsites are nice and they keep their grounds clean and easy to navigate. The campground is not overly cluttered with a lot of things that we never use but has everything we needed for camping. We very much enjoyed our stay and will certainly be back when visiting North Carolina! Thank you Jessie and Jason.

Looking for a nature escape near town? This is the best campground in Murphy! Enjoy spacious sites, wonderful hosts, and beautiful natural surroundings—all just a stone's throw from town.

J and J's served as our home while we waited to get on our property outside of Murphy. It was such a great experience and a welcome transition as we left Atlanta and made the move to NC. Jessie and Jason are amazing people and work so hard to make the campground a great place for everyone. The grounds are beautiful and the amenities are great - clean bathhouse and laundry facilities. It's obvious that they put their hearts into providing a great service to campers and the community!

We had a fantastic stay at J & J....they upgraded us to the bigger camper. It was quiet, beautiful. We were able to relax and enjoy. We forgot one of our dog leads and they wonderfully mailed it to us. We appreciate the kindness!! We will definitely be back!!

It's a Good Day to have a Good Day at J&J's! This was my third time staying at this gem of a campground (and not my last). I enjoy gazing at the mountains topped off by the gentle babbling of the creek. Jessie and Jason go above and beyond to make sure your stay is a great experience. The campground and bathhouse are clean and well maintained. Their camp store is well stocked with essentials and treasures you will want to take home with you (check out the J&J swag). Several RV sites offer full hook ups which is a welcomed convenience. They are located about 20 minutes from Murphy, with plenty of shopping and restaurants.

The owner was insanely rude to my family and myself. We arrived for a vintage camper gathering. It was all going well, or so I thought. The campground itself is really boring and nothing to write home about. The events were fun only because of the other guests. Then, I am packing up to leave on the last day (I’m alone with my two kids) and the owner SCREAMS at my kids and tells me they are sick and tired of them being there because they were fighting… and destroying stuff? I apologized but was so confused. No one said anything to me or even gave a side eye about us being a problem… and then you just have a temper tantrum?? After I apologized she stormed off. My kids felt bad, I felt bad, so to make amends - they wrote out little apology notes to give them before we left and say thank you for the stay. We never found them so we left the notes somewhere they would find it. Of course, the unprofessional camp owners never responded. Weird thing was, they had “friends” at the campground with kids at the same time who were behaving exactly like my kids (and hello, ALL kids)… but I guess it’s fine for them to behave that way, since they were friends. For us, we were expected to be perfect? Kind of doesn’t matter because it was so boring, wouldn’t return. The “360 Mountain View and creek side” are a huge overstatement. I would never recommend to families!

J&J’s getaway is an absolute gem! Surrounded by mountains, nestled by a peaceful creek, where you can sit back, listen to the soothing sounds of the water and birds, and take in the most breathtaking sunsets. The atmosphere is serene and quiet, making it the perfect escape. Jessie and Jason, the owners, are truly the best—always friendly, welcoming, and ready to help with anything you need. We originally planned to stay for a month but loved it so much that we extended our stay to four months. We only wish we could have stayed even longer! A special highlight was experiencing their vintage camper get-togethers, which were so much fun. They hosted games, a cozy bonfire, and potluck meals that brought everyone together. It’s clear they put their hearts into making this park a wonderful place to stay. If you’re looking for a beautiful, peaceful, and welcoming RV park, look no further. We can’t wait to come back!

We attended the Thankful Tin Event June 5th-8th 2025. As usual Jessie and Jason had a wonderful weekend planned for us. Including line dancing lessons, cookout, a pot luck dinner and gift exchange and song bingo. Also there was live music on Friday Night by Southern Advantage. It was a great weekend the facilities were first rate and clean. Everything worked as it should. Jessie and Jason are great hosts going the extra mile for their guests with an upbeat and fun loving attitude.

Jessie and Jason make you feel like you are having a family reunion and make sure you have everything you need to relax and have a good time. Beautiful campground surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Murphy, NC! We will be back!!!
