4/30/22 - Free dry camping near Tuscarora NV, McAfee Peak, Wilson Peak and Wilson reservoir a bit further down the highway. Mountains, stream, remote, wildlife, aspen/cottonwood forest perfect for hunting, fishing, OHV riding and hiking the surrounding peaks. Located four miles off the highway. The dirt access road is rough in places (high clearance vehicle needed) with lots of pot holes, boulders and low hanging branches that may make it difficult for trailers and large vehicles. The low - moderate condition road goes through free range public and private ranch land. There are two camping areas. The main upper campground has about 6 sites and 1 pit toilets, metal fire rings and picnic tables (several in need of repairs). The lower camping area has about 5 primitive sites with rock ringed fire pits and 2 pit toilets. Both areas are suitable for small trailers and tents.

It was such a beautiful little camping area for a quick weekend camping trip from Elko. The husband was able to do some fly fishing in the creek and caught a couple of Brook trout. Lots of fun ATV riding trails. We were also able to find an area to do some shooting. Good area to bring kids camping as well!

Nice place to camp. Lots of wildlife. Stream runs along side the campground. Bathrooms were disgusting but it could just be the season..

A cute campground! It has an outhouse, which is currently full of dead fly carcasses. There aren't any hookups, nor is there running water. That said, the campground is wonderfully scenic.

Peacefully and quiet. Just be nice if the toilets were cleaned.
