The Animals seem well fed and cared for. The facilities are clean and there are tons of things to see and do. The food we had was actually surprisingly good. We bought the buffalo chicken fries and were shocked by how delicious they were, the portion was good for the price as well. I'm tempted to get an annual pass now. The Zoo is currently decorated with light up structures for an event and everything is beautifully decorated. Highly recommend. The only negative thing was not being able to buy a ticket in person there. You could only buy a ticket online which didn't make sense to me. We just bought the tickets online at the entrance.
If you’re anyway local buy the yearly pass, after 2 visits you break even. Plenty to see and keep the kids entertained, I highly recommend paying the extra $10 per person for the train ride and the animal feedings. We got the train to the back of the park and worked our way forward for the day. Just before we left we did one last loop around the park on the train to say bye to all the animals. Make sure you bring a good amount of water, snacks and a packed lunch if you can.
It was a great place to spend a few hours. The reason I gave it a four star is because we paid for the upgraded experience, and the 4-D theater was closed for maintenance. Keep in mind, you must pay on your phone beforehand and use your phone to show the electronic ticket at the gate.
We did general admission for our first trip to the Jacksonville Zoo. It was a great experience, we got there around 10:00 in the morning on a sunday, the parking lot was filling up but it was not crowded at all. It gave us a chance to start walking around and see the exhibits. When you first walk in there are so many great things to say. Everything is very well laid out and organized and you can even find the map on your phone so you can go to the exhibits your most looking forward to. The zoo has an ice floe, they have a food court and concession stands as well. We spent about $100 on food for me, my husband, my 5 year old and 8 year old. You can pack lunches, snacks and drinks if you want. Stroller rental is available or you can bring your own. You can feed the giraffes, brush the goats, touch the Stingrays and more. Feeding the giraffe's was part of the Full Experience tickets. Although you probably could pay separately at the zoo. We will definitely be back
We had a great time at this zoo! We spent hours there and still didn’t get to see all the animals. The food was not too great but that’s not why we went. I wish we were able to go at night to see the lanterns lit they looked amazing during the day. Definitely worth getting the pass to let you feed the animals the sting rays were so cool to feel and to pet
