I always enjoy a good hike at Jacobsburg. You could do a super easy, quick hike or you could do hours and hours of hiking. Depends on the time but yes, the trails can be busy, but there’s always another trail for you to try. I have explored half of the trails and I absolutely love it. People are usually very friendly and there’s always different things going on. I haven’t explored the education center yet, but I know that the new parking lots are great and they seem to really try to keep up with the trails which is amazing. Also it’s absolutely stunning in the fall with all the different colors of leaves. The bathrooms are also an added plus that are great. I’ve brought my dogs and there has never been a problem. It has always been great. It’s also a great time to swim here as well!

This is my favorite big park in a 30 minute radius of me. It’s very clean; people clean up after themselves and take good care of it. It is truly huge. There are multiple trails, most of which touch a water way here and there. One path follows a large hill - one of my favorites and such a stunning view. There’s lots of parking at the education center, and another small lot further down to two additional path. Such a gem. Lots of dogs here too! They love it. And at the smaller lot I’ve seen horse doodoo so I assume horses go through there too? Water is very clean, and I’ve seen people fishing :-)

Although the main part of the park has lost quite a bit of the authentic natural nature wonderment I grew up with, it is still a beautiful park to explore. What I cherish is it is a wonderful place for families, dogs welcomed, PLENTY of trails for all skills and length. Gorgeous bird watching, natural stream to fish in when stocked and to wade in- dogs too. Abundant material to learn about the different aspects of the park, activities offered and information to get involved. I grew up knowing this State Park like it was my backyard for my entire life. Many memories with my Dad since I was very little, I took my daughter there growing up and it's so very nostalgic to me at 50.💗

The trails are well maintained. I've visited the park throughout the year and they do a pretty good job keeping up with it all. Everything is well marked and parking is always easy. Perfect for a hike or trail run. One of my go to spots for getting those miles in.
