Walked along the trail that surrounds the park, about 1h, with nice views. Nice 50ft climbing wall too. In December, if you come around 3:30/4:00pm, you can also enjoy the lights while leaving before the 5pm closure and the opening for the light festival.
Awesome park, lots of trails, good for running or walk. Saw a dolphin from the fishing pier ! Great for dogs and dog park as well. Light display is cool to see during day, $2 entry worth it
Beautiful Christmas lights! So many fun things to do and so many different lights to see! We really enjoyed the train ride as well!
JICP is one of the nicest parks we’ve been to. We only stayed a couple nights, but the campground was very nice, with friendly/helpful staff, clean showers/bathrooms, and shuttle service to Folly Beach. The park itself is huge with lots of walk/bike trails, paddling, dog park, playground, picnic area, and other activities.
“Christmas at the park? Oh, it’s next level! These folks don’t just do holiday lights—they put on a show that’ll make your jaw drop and your inner kid yell, ‘WOW!’ If you’re on the hunt for Old St. Nick, dazzling lights, and a full-on winter wonderland vibe, this is the place to be. Picture this: train rides, carousels, and a one-on-one with the big man himself—Santa! You’d swear you were smack dab in the North Pole. Whether you’re 5 or 95, this is the kind of holiday magic that leaves you grinning ear to ear. Don’t miss it!”
