We really enjoyed our stay at the James M. Robb State Park - Island Acres Section. We had a campsite right on the Colorado River. Right across from a beautiful Mesa. Our site amenities included electric hook ups, a fire ring picnic table with a small shelter. Although it is conveniently located close to route 70, the highway traffic did not bother us. They have a nice campground service building with restrooms and free hot showers as well as a laundry room. The park also features a couple of fishing ponds, picnic areas an amphitheater, gazebo and a playground.

Nice place to stop. Beautiful views. Electric at all sites. Full hookups at many. Minus is road noise from I-70. Plus is great cell reception. Fishing, swimming, playground, and trails. Going to the town of Palisade tomorrow. My son told us it’s beautiful.

I stayed here 3 nights in a class C RV in an electric only site. I had originally booked a FHU site, but upon arrival (and noticing the shelters covering the picnic tables) I moved to a electric only site because the FHU had zero shade and no shelter. Had no issues with the office in changing places and they reimbursed my card the difference. This end of James M. Robb state park RV camping is a bit less shaded and closer together in spots than the fruits location. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The restrooms weren't that clean overall, it was a busy time when we first got there but they weren't any better during our stay, we used our camper instead. They have fresh water fill, trash cans and a dump station available as well. Lots of biking/ walking paths, swimming hole, and picnic/ grassy spots. You're in between the canyon walls with I70 & a RR on either side but overall noise isn't that bad. Views are spectacular of the huge mesa! Enjoyed my stay, would stay again.

LOVE THIS PLACE! The swimming hole is perfect for Littles or beginners and paddleboarding! Been twice in the last week and it won't be my last visit. Super easy to find and get to!

Not very busy for Veterans Day weekend. Many yellow leaves still. Only one loop open. Next to the river. Plenty of space between campsites. Near i70 and train but noise is not a bother inside camper.
