Introduce

Discover Jarrell Cove State Park, a stunning location that falls under the broader category of Campgrounds & RV Parks due to its camping facilities, situated at 391 E Wingert Rd, Shelton, WA 98584, USA. While primarily a tourist attraction offering natural beauty and recreational activities, it provides a well-maintained environment for overnight stays.

Visitors consistently describe Jarrell Cove State Park as a beautiful destination. One of its key environmental features is its dynamic beach, where the tides change drastically approximately every twelve hours. If you plan a visit, especially for just a few hours, it's highly recommended to check the tide schedules. During low tide, be cautious of slippery clay on the beach. Mornings might offer the chance to see deer along the shoreline, while the same beach can be entirely underwater just hours later, showcasing the significant tidal shifts.

Campers have noted the clean bathrooms, equipped with automatic sinks, toilets, and hand dryers. When reserving a campsite, be aware that some spots are located in an open field with full sun, while others offer pleasant shade. The campground is generally quiet, making it ideal for a peaceful few days away.

Even during inclement weather, such as heavy rain, Jarrell Cove State Park offers covered areas suitable for activities like playing cards, providing alternatives to staying confined to a boat or campsite. Depending on the time of year, visitors might also find huckleberries. Additional services include clean bathrooms and free showers for campers. The park hosts are frequently mentioned as being amazing and helpful, enhancing the overall visitor experience.

While specific promotional information is not detailed in the provided reviews, the consistent positive feedback regarding the park's beauty, cleanliness, quiet atmosphere, and helpful staff serves as a strong recommendation for local users seeking a natural escape with camping options. Whether you are interested in exploring the tidal beach, camping in a well-maintained setting, or simply enjoying the peaceful environment, Jarrell Cove State Park offers a rewarding experience.

Beautiful state park to visit. Be sure to check the tides when you come (especially if only coming for a few hours) because they would change drastically every twelve hours or so. If it's low tide watch your step on the beach because the clay can be so slippery (I fell). Got to see some deer on the beach when we went in the morning one day but the whole beach was underwater the night before (see last 2 pictures of the same dock during different times). Camped here for a few nights and loved it. Most well kept state park I've stayed at here in Washington. Bathrooms were clean with automatic sinks, toilets, and a hand drier. Reserved a nice shady spot, there were some in the field so if you don't want the sun avoid those spots. It was really quiet, perfect for just a few days.

Amazing place. It was raining cats and dogs but there were lots of covered areas to play cards if you didn't want to stay in the boat. Good time of year for Huckelberries. Clean bathrooms and free showers. Hosts were amazine!

Jarrell Cove is a highlight of the South Sound. Harstine Island has bridge access and plenty of dock space and moorage. On one side of the cove is the State Park with campgrounds for paddlers as well as moorage and docks for larger boats. But Jarrell Cove Marina is the real treasure. It has a park along the water with tables and a fire pit and grills. Including a giant double grill. It is served by an old general store with wood plank floors and treats for the kids. I love this place.

A gem among the sound. Located away from major highways, we definitely had our separation from the noises of traffic you get in other state parks. The group site is also tucked away from the other individual sites, giving that much more privacy. In addition, there were many dedicated locations to set up tents along the pathway into the group site as well as around the pavilion. There were so many spots you could park your camp chair and have consistent shade throughout most of the day and not have to move to keep out of the sun: the trees are thick and tall. We had our own trail directly connecting to the amphitheater and the day use measures they have cleared. The bathrooms were always clean. The showers never ran out of hot water. The staff were all very nice. This is one of those fun locations you could keep going back to throughout the years.
