We camped here in our RV on Labor Day weekend 2023. The area itself is very picturesque. The RV site we stayed in was fairly decent but there are premium sites available that are much nicer. There always seemed to be a lot of activities to do. Our son loved seeing the bears riding around throughout the weekend. We paid a little extra to do tie dye shirts / stuffed animal thing which was cool for him. The arcade had a broken A/C system at the time but my son still enjoyed it for an hour or two. He also enjoyed the gen mining. We didn't go to the water park but it looked very nice. Check in and check out was painless and getting in / out of the campground onto the highway was easy. In all, we like it there and we'll likely come back. Luray caverns are cool but we enjoyed going to the old town area of Front Royal which was about a 40 minute trip (skyline drive is somewhat on the way).
I’m not sure why there are some low reviews! As someone who usually stays at a hotel such as the Marriott, or a Bed and Breakfast, this was a lovely break from the norm while still enjoying lots of amenities by booking a cabin. The cabin was awesome and fully stocked with everything we needed! The staff were so helpful and the activities were great! We had no kids with us and felt like it was the most perfect couples getaway even though this is a family-friendly resort! Coming during the Halloween season was fun given the festive activities and haunted trail! A bit on the pricey side but well worth it given how clean and organized everything was, well worth the money!
We stayed at a cabin in the fall and had a wonderful time. The laser tag area was awesome and really well run. Sebastian was in charge of most activities, he was great with the kids and the adults and made sure everyone was having an awesome time. Aaron was the manager we met, he was very hospitable and so helpful. The grounds are maintained very well, I always saw staff (including Dude and Peaches) actively working on different projects. You also can’t beat the location and the view of Shenandoah National Park. We’ll be visiting again!
We take family vacations to Jellystone Luray twice a year and we always have a really good time!! The park layout is open, which allows for all the kids in our family to run around and play all day, without wondering where they are. The park is safe with plenty of activities for the kids and relaxation for the patents. We've stayed in the cabins which are comfy, in a tent which was private and we've stayed in an RV which provides plenty of room on the site. We've always had great sites, as all the campsites are in close proximity to all the activities.
We stayed an in deluxe cabin with the screen porch in the front. The screen porch for some reason had no screen doors. We had a fly infestation. They did give us fly traps that barely helped. Our dishes on the cabinet were molded. It looked like no one cleaned our cabin. Our bath water was cold most of the time. There was zero cell phone reception and WiFi. Apparently the WiFi was down the entire weekend. The location was okay. They could have placed the cabins more efficiently to allow more parking. Overall, our family did have a good time despite of our living situation. The kids enjoyed trick or treating and all of the other Halloween activities. They other amenities were clean.
