Rented an area for a bridal shower. Park is absolutely beautiful, clean, and well maintained. However, in the middle of the shower, they were mowing the grass literally right next to where we were set up.
I love this park..great place to bring my dog and grandkids. Been going there since a child myself. Love fishing there all my life. Great improvements over the years. I've enjoyed reunions, dog sledding races, runs and walks for charities etc. Many great memories there! One memory I miss most, is the scenic trail. It's never open anymore and I'd sure like to share it with my grandchildren. Please consider reopening a couple weeks in the fall as it was my go to outing with my kids..so much beauty and a great place to learn about nature..
Disappointing paved track with little shade. I walked along this track thinking it might circle back but my little feet had to endure the same boring track back. Heritage Park is the nicest one I’ve found that allowed you to walk on actual dirt or trails. I
Kid friendly (restrooms near both playgrounds). Picnic tables. Walking trails for the more adventurous. Bike trail. Dog friendly. Disc golf. Wildflowers. Mature trees. Fishing across the street at the Grand River- but beware poison ivy. Sledding in winter- if you can get up/down the steep hill to parking. We had our wedding reception here years ago- the covered shelter capacity 150, has a sweeping veranda overlooking the park. Reserve it early- it gets booked every weekend in the summer!
Had the opportunity to go to attend a baby shower, which included a hike around the park and enabled us to enjoy the scenery and many facilities. What a wonderful park, beautifully wooded, well maintained and even tho very close to busy highways etc amazingly peaceful! The hike is a lot of uphill and rolling paved paths, but it's doable! Great place to walk your fur baby, play yard sports, have a picnic or just watch the birds!! * some construction going on to eliminate the flooding potential in the lower areas. Don't let that stop you from going, ton of other things to see and do!!
