We loved our stay at Johnson's Beach Resort! We stayed in their new glamping tents that faced the river, so we got to see sunrise and pop outside to see the stars at night. The resort had nice, well-designed touches throughout. It's so central to everything in town and the best part was direct access to the river. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. All the staff was friendly and welcoming. Chris is the best! We will be back again soon.

Fantastic two night stay in the brand new glamping tents! The bed was comfy, the bedding was clean and soft, plenty of room for our things, and great amenities like a cooler, lamps, and extension cords. Chris and Ms. Beth were super friendly and accommodating. It’s close to everything! We walked to the beach, restaurants, coffee, the market, and a sporting goods store that sold us an inflated floatie. We’ll definitely be back!

I had a great time at my stay at Johnson's Beach in their new tiny homes. Their tiny homes had opened up Labor Day of this year and they are well designed and equiped with most of what you need to have a great "glamping" experience. Originally I was planning on glamping at a luxury tent at Autocamp nearby, but they weren't available for Saturday night. I'm so glad we ended up here because it was a better value with more of the little luxuries with direct access to the river and downtown. It was convenient to load and unload the car since we parked right next to the tiny home. The interior of the space feels much bigger than it is, and it helps that the table inside is a retractable leaf from the wall. The good: - the huge king sized bed felt unreal - shower is big and water got warm quickly - large basin kitchen sink w/own sponge and soap. Having the burners and the fridge was a luxury. - quality Malin + Goetz shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soap - low profile baseboard heater and standing fan included - lots of built in shelving in the main area - fridge - quality fixtures, windows ,and great warm ambient lighting options. Small handheld lamp was also a nice touch - Checking in was a breeze and staff are soo kind and helpful Could be better: - blinds for the entrance left a large gap through the side to see in still. We had to drape a towel we brought over to cover the gap - window next to bed had too long of a paper/crepe type of curtain that got the bed and I kept bumping into - under the sink shelf in the restroom would be nice to have our toiletries stored in - diagram photo in the booking showed camp chairs outside. There is actually only a small fire pit and a picnic table. - facilities offered wifi on the check in brochure, but it wasn't reachable in the home. Not sure if that was intentional or not. Either way, I was not expecting to have wifi. - a few more sets of silverware and perhaps a larger bowl would be helpful Overall I'd stay here again and recommend it to all my friends! They did a lovely job taking into consideration the space and investing in the tiny homes. *Photos taken were from when we had finished our stay*

I have been to this campground a lot and watched the change of it. My last experience was awful this past weekend. The campsite side is extremely small and you’re right on top of each other. Definitely not something that’s fully expressed and uncomfortable for campers to be in other space in such a small site. On the glamping sides that has a lot more space even with there tiny home. I witness several things that would continue to be problematic for this campsite. There was a large group of 100 . The group rented out the entire campground site except for 2 sites. They had two families on the other campsite. This is the part that becomes problematic… during the night your could hear the noise. I’m ok with some noise it’s natural but when it’s become louder and what you’re talking about becomes offensive. Throughout the night the group of 100 made several inappropriate comments about Jewish individuals, used the n-word. This is a campground that’s open to the public so it’s offensive and dangerous. This type of behavior creates hostile environments and situations. Not so great for others who choose to camp there or individuals that come just for beach. During my stay this behavior continued and from what I saw management ,Kris didn’t do much about it continued . By adding the tiny home/tent and making camping site/smaller to generate more money will require more from the management to ensure a safe and sound campsite. Definitely will not return.

This is a hidden gem. The emerald Russian River, the redwood trees, are all that I saw from my cabin window and balcony. The fragrance of honeysuckles lingers outside the cabin and inside on the walls are vintage whimsical posters. They surely would bring smiles to guests far and near alike. Our cabin is simple and rustic yet clean and comfy. My son and I first were keen to see the vegetable and flower garden and then we kayaked on the Russian River for the rest of the day - I was living the life in my dream. Wow. What a retreat - back to nature and become part of this great nature - heart, body and mind! Thank you, Ethan and your staff team, for your warm hospitality! We look forward to our return soon!
