This magnificent part of Missouri is heaven on earth. One of the most beautiful parks I have hiked in. Lush greenery and spotless not on price of litter. I guess the GPS in the Prius can’t find it so the litterers stay away. The hikes are rated easy, moderate and rugged but even the moderate ones were hard. The shut ins and are so cool and the mountains so pretty . They also have great day she areas for picnics and grilling. Definitely worth a trip here.
The water was grate. I really enjoyed it. There is a big parking lot and a souvenir shop that sells water shoes (which I recommend to everyone) and other items. There are free restrooms and changing rooms.. then you have to walk for about 10 minutes before you get to the waterfalls. The view it’s amazing. It’s worth it I promise!
We had a pull through, shaddy all concrete level site in loop 2 with full hookups. It's one of the best campsites we've had in Missouri State parks, or anywhere for that matter.
What a cool friendly place for the family to coool off in the heat. Shut In area has rocks and water flumes and down stream access for your smaller children. The gift shop attendant was helpful and her merchandise was quality and affordable. Five Stars
Super easy trail down to the Shut-Ins. There is a slight incline when going back to the parking area. Most people entered at Acess #2. There's 25 wooden steps down to the rocks, where you'll climb over and down rocks, making your way to the water. Good water shoes are a must.
