Jones Country Music Park Introduce

🎶 Introduction / Overview: A Texas Campground Steeped in Country Music History

For Texas residents, Jones Country Music Park in Colmesneil, TX, offers more than just a place to park an RV; it provides a slice of authentic East Texas history and a uniquely versatile recreational venue. This property, nestled within the lush Piney Woods, was famously designed, built, and called home by country music legend George Jones and his wife, Nancy. Today, the 140-acre site operates as a dedicated RV Park and outdoor music pavilion, preserving its rich heritage while catering to modern campers and unique event organizers.

The park's unique legacy is cherished by locals, with one reviewer recalling the first concerts here in 1983 with George Jones himself. While its music heritage is a primary draw, the park has evolved to host a wide range of activities. As another customer noted, the grounds are spacious and well-equipped for large gatherings: "Met up with 300+ of my fellow Amtgard players for a fun time of Fantasy Medieval Combat." This versatility—accommodating both the quiet RV camper and large, specialty groups—makes Jones Country Music Park a distinctive and valued part of the Texas camping landscape.

Located just minutes from the massive Lake Sam Rayburn, the facility provides a peaceful basecamp surrounded by towering pines. Campers here enjoy a quiet, forested environment coupled with essential modern amenities, offering a relaxed alternative to the often-crowded resort areas of East Texas. Met up with 300+ of my fellow Amtgard players for a fun time of Fantasy Medieval Combat. Grounds are great, has power outlet access, toilets, laundry and showers. Having a sweet castle mock up on site is a plus.

I have fond memories of the 1st two concerts here with George Jones. 9/5/83 was the 1st. Me and Judy and Dave brought sound and lights for George. The show was broadcast on the radio. It was Georges birthday. We partied with his sons in their home down the street. Jon Anderson was a awesome also. Wolfgang's Vault has the show for download. I have my own board mix of the next shows a month or 2 later.

this place is no more . Up until the year Jones passed you was able to com and take a drive down memory lane. Not now. I personally think this should become a park of some sort. Another good idea would be a benifet to restore it to it's previous glory. Really is a cool place

Power outlets for the RVs need to be checked, most don't work. Bathrooms have very poor water pressure for the showers.
