Jones Creek Campground Introduce
Nestled in the serene landscapes of Dahlonega, GA, Jones Creek Campground offers a perfect escape for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. This campground is a haven for those seeking tranquility, surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of the creek. Whether you're pitching a tent, parking your RV, or planning a group gathering, Jones Creek Campground provides spacious and well-maintained sites to accommodate your needs.
One of the standout features of Jones Creek Campground is its seclusion. Located deep within the forest, it offers a true retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life. However, be prepared for a bit of adventure to reach your campsite. The journey includes multiple creek crossings and rugged terrain, making a 4-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle highly recommended, especially after rain or ice. The drive in is scenic but requires caution due to potholes, bumps, and the presence of motorcyclists and cyclists.
Campers at Jones Creek can enjoy a variety of activities, from setting up hammocks and cooking over a fire to exploring the surrounding nature. The campground is known for its spacious sites, allowing ample room for tents, cars, and outdoor setups. However, it's important to be mindful of the natural environment, including the swift-moving creek, slippery rocks, and the occasional wildlife. Always check your surroundings and stay safe during your stay.

We had an awesome time even though we got rained on most of the time. The place was quiet and the sites were spacious. We had two tents and a car and had plenty of room for fire, hammocks and cooking. One scare was due to the wet conditions we had one huge widow maker fall just a few feet from where my son stood. Too close for comfort. Always look up when setting up camp!
Beautiful, multiple campsites, very secluded from business and residential areas. 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive recommended especially after rain or ice. Multiple large group sites located on creek and a couple of smaller ones. 4 wheel drive required to reach a couple of sites. Moderate traffic. Beautiful view driving in, be cautious while driving, no guard rails and many motorcycless and bicycles. Hard to get a campsite on the weekends and even weeknights during summer. Be prepared for 3 creek crossings. No service at campsites but you can get service at top of hill by guard rail. Not much wood around campsites. Be careful. Swift moving water. DEEP in some places, slippery rocks. And be cautious of snakes. Go slow driving in, there are a couple unexpected large potholes and bumps.
You will need at least, all wheel drive to get here & some ground clearance will help too. But if you make it, it is absolutely beautiful primitive camping
Very rustic, and perfect location to the Bull and Jake mountain mtb trails, also Springer Mountain. Creek is clean and provides excellent water for filtering. Kudos to the Forest Service for giving us this pristine camp!
We visited Jones Creek Campground while in the area. Campground was secluded, quiet, clean, and laid out nicely. Lots to do in the area: hiking, biking, playing in the creek, etc. Most campsites provided shade, and some were right on the river. It was a weekend in May, and only two spots were taken. We will be back soon to camp!
