4x4 is recommended in rainy weather/season. Beautiful waterfalls en route. Countless potholes and washboard road conditions. Elevation climb is abrupt! 😀

We camped here in mid-September. The fires had just ended and it was the first day of the campsite reopening so we got lucky and basically had the entire lake to ourselves. Since all campsites were empty, we picked the best one near the lake and enjoyed the weekend peacefully. 2 things to be mindful of : a) You need a 4x4 to get up here. I took my Sedan and ended up having a damaged rim. b) The place has a massive garbage problem. If you walk/drive by the lake, it’s unfortunate how inconsiderate campers are, leaving their garbage all over the place. Please be respectful and take your garbage with you or dump it appropriately.

This is a pretty awesome place. Bring ur family and ur dog. The host is cool and people are friendly. It's kept up pretty good by bc hydro. Make sure bring good lights it's pitch black at night. Remember we all come to have fun be respectful. No campfires just propane.

Pros: Stunning view. Beaches are close from the road. Long shoreline. Countless stars at night. Cons: Crowdy often. Can be a horror depending on neighbours. Sharp stones and branches on the beach. Off-road to get here. However, the view is more than enough to erase all of downsides.

My first time to camp at Jones Lake. We arrived Friday night and left Sunday morning. We experienced showers on Friday night and morning of Saturday. The view of the lake was fantastic! This is a free camp site by BC Hydro. No reservations and is on a first come first serve basis. There is no cell service and the roads are not paved. There's an outhouse. Depending on how you view these, could be a plus or minus. To me, it was a positive as I had time away from all the technology and being able to do a reset and just enjoy nature. Downside is inconsiderate people leaving their trash behind! If you go camping here, pls bring your garbage back with you and leave the place the same way or better than when you arrived!
