Amazing. We entered at the north entrance. Easy to get in and park. There is something for everyone. Gorgeous views in every direction— Easy trails for people with mobility issues. More difficult trails for those who want to climb a bit! Arch rock requires a moderate hike but worth it for those who can maneuver through the rocks.
We stopped in quickly to complete the junior ranger badge requirements. The facility is well organized and maintained. The restroom was clean. The museum type displays were educational. It’s definitely worth the stop. We will be back.
Love this place, no nicer desert than Joshua Tree. The formations are beautiful and magical. There's no place on earth with this landscape and plenty of places to hike solo or around others. This, without a doubt, is a must check out places. #BeeHippyLifestyle
For me it was a jaw-dropping witness to the strangest and most powerful geology I've ever seen. I was kind of hoping I had a geologist in the car who could sit next to me and explain how this ever happened . How could this possibly be? What is going on here? You start to get the sense of how it must have been millions and millions of years to take the form that it did. Slow slow processes over an immense timeframe.I'm so happy to be able to see this and to be able to drive through very easily and to stop where I wanted to. Mid-September weekday is a great time to go. There were no crowds. There was big heatwave. So you go in the early morning and you come back after the sun goes down so you can view dark night sky, when there's no moon. I also was mesmerized by the quiet that you can experience in certain places, especially during the dark night sky viewing. just complete quiet. What a relief. For night time,, dress in long sleeves and long pants. Maybe even a bug face screen over your hat. The bugs at night weren't too bad but they find you quickly.
Enjoyed it but it was VERY CROWDED! So much so I didn’t return the next day like I had originally planned. The line just to get in was at least 2miles long to get in so I drove down to 29 Palms gate and it was still Long but not as bad. I’ll never go on a weekend ever again but I do plan to go back. It was a pretty day just way to Many people made it hard to take any pics cause of so many visitors. I’m going back in springtime. Keys view was very nice.
