Today, we met the two most friendly people in usa till now. We booked a fully arranged West coast road trip by travel agency. Though after few days we decided to follow our own plan away from the tourist crowds. So we turned around from yosemite valley and made a grand detour via east and northern yosemite and ended up in the evening on junction campground. We did not want to overnight but the childrens wish was to have a bbq inside the woods. We asked a camp visitor for the possibilities to use his fire pit. And the visitor and campground host were so super friendly to use the fire pit for free although the campsite was full without vacancy. It was a beautiful environment and one of the best experiences the children had. No internet, no tourist attraction, no luna park. Just 2 friendly people, little bit of wood and hamburgers, sausages and marshmallows. Junction road campground is the best.

Awesome little campground right off hwy 120, just before entering Yosemite. It's located not too far from Saddlebag lake and there's alot of little streams where u can take a dip or do some fishing

Small campground with very nice hiking trail. Only negative is there is a constant stream of cars and RVs driving through looking for open sites due to its location.
