A very nice and quite campground with lovely and shady sites. I recommend booking in advance as the campground fills up quickly during the day. Some of the sites are a bit small and uneven. The restroom was clean. There is a dump station at the entrance.

Stayed at Juniper twice and had great experiences . Quiet campground with very clean bathrooms and easy access to several nearby trails. Some of the driveways are tight and far from level so would hesitate to bring in a large trailer.

We stayed here for 3 nights in mid-May 2024, using it as a base for exploring Bandelier National Monument and the surrounding area. Our site was near one the restroom with running (cold) water. There is a sink conveniently located outside the restroom for dish washing. The restroom is well-stocked and clean. We had originally reserved site #20 but could not use it as it the driveway was too much of a slope for our camper-van, so we moved to site #12 in the non-reservable section. With daytime temperatures in the mid-70°s and low-50°s in the morning, it was a pleasant time of the year to stay here. We hiked the easy, 1-1/2 mile Frijoles Canyon overlook trail loop from the campground, providing a scenic view this area of the park. Highly recommended!

Dogs are only allowed in your campsite basically. No dogs on any trails, so you may want to leave the pooch at home. We were at group site number 5. Highly recommend bringing umbrellas and canopies for shade, there are not many large trees near the group sites. If you're creative the juniper can be hammock spots. The campground was clean and the bathrooms were great. Flushable toilets and a sink for doing dishes is available. Potable water spouts throughout the site. Fire pits , charcoal grills and bear boxes at the camp site were nice! Wood was $1 per log near the entrance to the site.

First the pros - this was a quiet campground and the view of the stars at night were great! For the cons: Chose this campground because it received good reviews from Good Sam. Swimming Pool, playground, and nice sites. When we arrived, it was 100 per night (which I understand supply and demand). Pool was shut down by the state, but they didn't tell us at booking. Sites were unlevel and tight. We left the next day and went to the Big Texan to stay two days to end out the vacation instead - heated pool, playground, bagle breakfast for 20 dollars less per night. We may have been there on a one-off, but wouldn't stay again, unless just a stop over.

Great semi dry campsite, great historical for our stay. Be warned: as most sites are FCFF, the recreation.gov reservable sites seem to be the crappy ones. We had to change ours. And don't bring any big campers, it's a tight place.

Great location for hiking to trails around the visitors center. Bathrooms were kept clean. It is not a quiet place. For four days every evening and morning, there was at least one dog constantly barking. Ranger and camp host drove by but never stopped. A couple trailers even used their generator at night during quiet hours.
