Introduce

Welcome to Katherine Lake Park and Campground, a popular destination within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, located at 4955 Garden Bay Rd, Madeira Park, BC V0N 2H0, Canada. Situated on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, this campground is described as a "little gem" and is known for its warm lake and family-friendly atmosphere.

Katherine Lake Park and Campground offers both RV spaces and tent sites, with 19 RV spaces and 10 tent sites available. The location is highly regarded, offering a peaceful environment with no traffic sounds. The lake itself is a significant attraction, reportedly filled with people enjoying it from sunrise to sunset.

For amenities, the campground provides appreciated features such as flush toilets and showers. However, one reviewer noted that the shower water was cold. For RVers, 30 amp power and water hookups are available. One visitor with a 32 ft Class C RV reported having plenty of room at their site.

Safety appears to be a positive aspect, with one visitor noting feeling very safe due to the campground being busy. The campground is also dog-friendly, making it suitable for travelers with pets. It is particularly popular among families.

A point of concern raised by a visitor is the close proximity of the campsites to each other, separated only by very small trees. Additionally, one RVer experienced some difficulty leveling their rig, though they acknowledged their relative inexperience might have contributed to this. Despite this, they expressed their intention to return the following year, highlighting the campground's appeal.

Due to its popularity, especially during peak season, Katherine Lake Park and Campground tends to be mostly booked. One potential visitor who tried to book another trip found limited availability. This high demand suggests that early booking is advisable.

For local users in Singapore planning a trip to the Sunshine Coast in British Columbia and looking for a lakeside camping experience, Katherine Lake Park and Campground offers a warm lake, essential amenities like flush toilets and showers, and a family and dog-friendly environment. While campsites may be close together and shower water might be cold, the overall positive reviews and high booking rates indicate its popularity. We felt very safe at this campground as it was very busy, and the lake was filled with people from sunrise to sunset. The showers and flush toilets were appreciated as well. Campsites are way too close together though, and are only separated by some very small trees that aren’t more than 2 years old (see pic)

A little gem of a campground on the Sunshine Coast. 19 RV spaces, plus 10 for tents. Great location for families, dog friendly, warm lake, no traffic sounds. Flush toilets, showers (cold water tho). 30 amp power and water for rvs. We have 32 ft class C, lots of room. The reason it's a 4 rating is because we had trouble leveling our rig...but we're also still fairly new RV'rs which could have attributed to this. Tried to book another trip here but this space is mostly booked for the season. We'll be back next year!

Nice park. RV site have power and water hookups only. No sewar. Washrooms and shower close by. Relatively clean and useable. Beach is tiny and mostly hard packed gravel. This is a park and it is open to all. This means that access to the lake can be difficult on hot days as hundreds flock here and overwhelm the road and public areas. Seems to be better swimming at Garden Bay lake where there are little docks along the shoreline that you can use. For the most part if you grab one of these early you can have it to yourself for the afternoon. A quick 5 to 10 minute walk from the campsite. Mt Daniels is also close by and worth a hike. Hosts are very kind.

We have been here for 1 week and have been coming here for 18 years! We are so appreciative of the caretakers Harlos and Jack, they are doing an amazing job! They are very professional and keep the campground very clean. The beach is amazing, and the bathrooms are so clean. We are very grateful for this beautiful place!
