Customer Reviews
My family & I spent two months at this campground in summer 2024 and we had a wonderful time. The family that owns the campground works really hard and were incredibly helpful throughout the summer with us as first-time camper owners. This is a campground for families that want to have summer fun in a gorgeous location. If you want silent nature, this isn't for you. If you want a loud party campground, this isn't for you. Keep in mind that this is rural Maine, not everything will be perfect and that's just how we like it! I highly recommend this spot.
We got to our campground last night and found it was closed. We call Kenne's and although their office was closed for the night she took our card info over the phone. We were able to drive right into a spot for the night. In the morning we could see the lake and heard loons calling it was lovely. We would go back.
I hardly ever leave bad reviews, but this place sucked. It was pretty. Reserved a place weeks ago to get over border quickly. Checked in today THEN they told me there would be a concert tonight. By the office, in the parking lot? NO..found out at 8 PM it is in the the middle of the campground, literally in my doorstep, with massive amplification, till 11 PM. I had planned an early night, then an early start tomorrow. I'm really pissed. Not only LOUD music, but people smoking outside my window, flashing lights on stage. Not like I can find a new campsite at dusk in rural northern Maine.
It’s difficult to describe why this CG is not one of our favorites. Although the staff was friendly, the musty cooking smell in the gift shop/registration area was unpleasant. This is a typical lakeside CG, with a nice beach with kayak rentals available. Most of the sites are occupied by seasonal campers, with an open grassy area available for short stays. We had our choice of grassy sites and chose the one that seemed to be the least rutted. Some effort was required to level the camper. It rained overnight during our stay and luckily the ground was firm enough to make our exit. There is no CG wifi and no local weather, etc. available by way of over the air antenna. Verizon service was robust enough for streaming, but would be interrupted from time to time; T-Mobile was more reliable.
This campground is truly phenomenal in almost every way. The rates - beyond reasonable Service - exceptional Amenities - second to none, especially considering the rates Some highlights - the lake is very scenic and almost never crowded. The beach area on the lake may get crowded on nice holiday weekends but that’s about it. The food at the camp store is very good and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit!
