This is a nice base to visit with all the necessary amenities, including commissary, exchange, gym, pool, bank, postal office, fish bowl…. and of course the golf course! Yes most of the amenities closes fairly early, but so are other bases. Easy access with 2 gates mostly open & close to restaurants, shops and the beach. At the end, all I want to say is, if you feel like complaining about this base, go check out an Army base, you will be much grateful for this one 😂

The Commander needs to be removed and replaced. No proper signage to navigate on base, security forces at the gate are lazy and worried about talking amongst themselves and lack the ability to render the proper customs and courtesies, Air Force Inn on Keesler is a complete disaster. No internet, dirty hallways, heat blasting thru the rooms, front desk staff were unprofessional and treating the desk like it’s their own living room- just an embarrassment to the Institution of the DOD. Base Commander needs to be reprimanded and relieved of leadership duties and responsibilities; send him home.

Frankly, as a past tech school student myself, I've never encountered more incompetent leadership than the MTLs here. Numerous assault cases and they don't do anything but group punishments, all of them continue to haze and power trip with every opportunity they have, and they could not care less about the mental well-being of their students. Suicide attempts were a norm there, with the added stress of trying to pass our classes, but it was always pointed to the students for not being disciplined enough or not being good enough. It's a miracle I even made it through, because every MTL was out for blood with no justification or reason to better the students in any way. Probably the lowest point in my term, it's in desperate need of reform. Edit: I've been informed a few months after I left that a student was told to "get over it" and continue her classes after getting SA'ed. Nothing has changed. 🙃
