If I could give it a 0, I would. We are on a Girl Scout troop trip and reserved the site in April. We arrive to find the campground completely deserted and had no notice of such a thing.
This campground really sucks! The road there is labeled as an ATV-trail at some points... They say it is a 'gravelroad' but with our rented campervan there was no way to get through the labyrinth of deep holes.. If they would atleast say really rough road and fourwheel drive recommended or something in the description we wouldn't have even booked there... If you plan a trip to Yosemite you shouldn't choose this campground either because it will take you ages to get there.. In conclusion don't go there! I would give 0 stars if I could.
It’s very far from the main road to get there, the campground is not suited for all type of vehicles, I stucked my camping van there so yeah I can tell you about it, be very careful if you’re not driving a four-wheel drive, there’s no phone service, I had to wait for the park ranger to call for a tow truck. It’s quite far from Yosemite in case you want to book it for that purpose. The spot in itself is a very nice wild camping area, I have nothing to say about that.
Although the road is bumpy and unpaved in some areas, one cannot complain because that's just how nature is. Campsites are very clean and spacious. The area is very secluded and quiet. Huge trees that give lots of shade, beautiful area to see stars. There is no running water but you are able to boil water from the river nearby. Restrooms are cleaned twice a day by the lovely camp host Carmen. Hiking trails nearby, other campsites nearby that you can go visit. Cows roam freely near the roads and you do occasionally hear them, other then that there is no sign of bears or wolfs.
The best place on earth... Beautifully secluded perfect to get away from the crowds for our family. We followed the directions on google maps and made our own directions to stay on 6s10 all the way to Kelty meadow. The scenery and the wildlife were there in all its tranquility. Half an hour from highway 41, we got to see Yosemite, after a slight detour, just after it re-opened after the fires of July/August 2018. Toilets were clean and the family enjoyed the open fire and picnic tables. Just what we needed.
