I recently had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful campground in South Dakota for the second time, and I have to say, it’s truly the best choice for anyone riding the South Dakota BDRx. The proximity to the entrance of section 1 makes it incredibly convenient for those hitting the trails. What really sets this place apart, though, is the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the family that runs it. Unlike corporate-owned campgrounds, this gem is managed with a personal touch, and it shows in how meticulously clean and well-kept everything is. One of the highlights of staying here is watching the wildlife come down from the surrounding hills in the morning—it's a serene and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a top-notch, family-run retreat in South Dakota. Oh and the pool is great too!

Great place, great prices, beautiful landscape! I came in late and they were very accommodating. I rented a basic tent site for $36/night. Bathhouse was a bit dated, but everything worked and they have a pool too! You can buy ice from the main office for $4/bag, not bad! Kind owners, Would recommend!!

Had Cabin#2 for a week, no big issues. Place was beautifully taken care of. Room was a but tiny, but worked for what we needed. Parking was so-so. We had a big pickup, with a car trailer and ranger. Was a little tricky to maneuver but still able to manage. Location was beautiful! Got to see the 1880 train multiple times a day when we were there 🩵

We stayed two nights. The day of our arrival, we toured crazy horse and went to Mt Rushmore for the evening lighting. The next full day, we went to wall drug and the badlands. So, we spent little time in the campground. The sites are snuggly, but we were not there much. We had campsite 7 almost on the end. We were lucky to have nice neighbors. Bathroom is rustic. We have our own shower, so we didn't use theirs. There is only one washer and one gas dryer for the entire campground. Our first night, the neighbor campers were using it. our full day after spending all day at the badlands we took our laundry downtown so we could use two washers at the same time. A tour train goes by, but not extremely late. It's actually cool to watch. ATV place is up the street. They go by multiple times very late into the night. Latest one we heard was 10pm. I can't confirm that it was from the ATV place or a personal ATV. Getting up at 430 to leave before 6, it was not appreciated, but we got to sleep.

This campground was great covered picnic tables and everything. Got there late, but the girl came over and got us checked in quickly. Very friendly.
