Was camped nearby. Rode in for lunch. Restaurant and store pricing very fair. Food was great. Selection at store great. Store sells beer in single cans ( great for pct hikes and campers nearby).
Safety was not the staff’s priority when we went horseback riding. There were 3 adults and 2 kids in our group and they tried to have us all get on our horses at the same time. One horse bucked, which caused another horse to buck, and as a result my mother more has a broken ankle. The homophonic “LGBT- liberty, guns, beer and Trump” sticker also made me feel unsafe, as a queer person. The horses were sweet and the views are breathtaking but I won’t be back until they start prioritizing client safety.
One of my favorite places in the world. Service was fabulous. We went on a horse back ride. A day trip. About 7 hours into Kennedy lake area had lunch and back out. The sweetest most patient young lady lead is in and back. All the cowboys at the stable were very helpful and courteous. Absolutely gorgeous up in those mountains. Had breakfast at the restaurant. Excellent service.
Great Place nestled in the California Sierra. We visited on a Monday and Tuesday to avoid the weekend crowds which are crazy. Camping, Hiking, Nature Viewing and Fishing. Weather is not a concern mostly but pack a light jacket for the occasional afternoon sprinkles and early morning chill. Once we have arrived here we literally park our truck and walk from camp to fishing holes to store to restaurant to trailheads to showers to restrooms and the two creeks. I have had the privilege over the last 25 years of spending many spring, summer and fall days and nights at this place and love the workers, volunteers and the owner who place the highest priority on keeping the authenticity of the pack station and natural forest intact.
Friendly and helpful staff. Great amenities including laundry, showers, restaurant, and store. Beautiful location along a river. Great shuttle service with long-time employees.
