We stayed in a cabin and honestly it wasn’t as clean as we would have liked and the amenities are showing their age. The staff were very nice though and the setting was beautiful! I loved waking up and walking around the campground as the sun was coming up over the lake. That was my absolute favorite. My family enjoyed the pools, the aquatic playground, and the fire pit. The manager, Tiffany, and the waitress, Bre, were super nice and made our stay the best it could be. They went above and beyond to make sure that we enjoyed our stay.
Worst rental experience we've ever had. We rented a floating cabin for Labor Day weekend. It was absolutely disgusting inside and out. we couldn't use the decks on the front due to spider webs and dead bugs completely covering every surface. the rooftop deck was covered in dead bugs and the water spigot was leaking which flooded the roof. The bathroom floor felt soft and had mold on the walls. Every room was covered in dead bugs and mouse droppings. The pool was dirty and filled with leaves and dead bugs. the arcade smelled so bad our kids gagged when they walked in. The public bathrooms were covered in feces and they were not stocked with tp. The office told us they had complaints about housekeeping but refused to make it right.
Our family reunion was held there in August of 2023. We enjoyed it so much we booked it again for same time in 2024. Wow what a difference a year makes. Last year cabins & public baths were very clean. This year not so much. No toilet paper in public bathrooms & a partial roll in the cabins. Septic backed up in two of the four cabins rented. Two families relocated as a result. No courtesy discount for their inconvenience. Large tree limb fell & damaged one of our groups brand new pickup. Their rep simply said - parked in the wrong spot. Lastly - minors on golf carts at all hours of the night. Rules/signs said no carts after 10:00 PM & no one under 16 allowed to drive. No one (except us to enforce it). With children sleeping in tents - final straw was young boys in a gas cart buzzing thru at 10:45 PM. Gas carts?? - they aren't even allowed here, but absolutely zero supervision. No one responsible in their organization. Will find a better place for next year.
The staff was polite. The tent camping could be organized a little better. The hosts had a hard time finding our spot(as they are escorting us in). We paid for our firewood on Friday afternoon, and it was not delivered til after dark on Saturday. We understand that things happen, but we were told it would be 10 minutes and we waited for an hour after going back to the store to ask where it was. Would be perfect if it was more organized. Boating and fishing was great! The people working inside the restaurant and store were polite and attentive.
We have been coming to Prizer for years and were so saddened to realize this would be our last trip there due to the general decline of the facilities and awful customer service. We are usually easy to please, but this was incredibly disappointing. The cabins were not ready until almost a hour past check in time, there were not adequate linens for the beds, and the welcome center staff were dismissive when approached to help find resolution. We spent over $1000 for a campsite and two cabins, but quickly realized the experience would have been much better at a State Park. We won’t be back.
