Welcome to Kilmory Resort, located in Swift Current, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. While listed under Campgrounds & RV Parks due to its lodging nature, this is a cabin rental resort. You can reach them at (709) 549-2410 or +1 709-549-2410.

Kilmory Resort offers waterfront cabins with excellent scenic views, providing a picturesque setting for a getaway. However, customer reviews indicate that the resort has limitations. The cabins are described as clean and spacious enough, but they are also noted to be dated, with uncomfortable furniture and beds. Some cabins have experienced issues like water leaks, which, while addressed by management, can impact the stay. The resort offers kayaks and a canoe for water activities, but navigating the water can be challenging due to currents and wind. Guests have expressed a desire for more activities, such as small boats with outboard motors, to enhance their experience. Basic amenities like coffee are not always provided, requiring guests to travel for necessities. The overall consensus is that the resort is overpriced for the accommodations and limited activities offered. While the staff is friendly and accommodating, the resort may not meet the expectations of those seeking a more comprehensive vacation experience.

Here are some key features and considerations:

  • Scenic Waterfront Views: Offers excellent scenic views from waterfront cabins.
  • Clean and Spacious Cabins: Cabins are clean and spacious enough.
  • Dated Accommodations: Cabins are dated with uncomfortable furniture and beds.
  • Limited Activities: Limited activities, with a desire for more options like small boats.
  • Kayaking and Canoeing: Offers kayaks and a canoe, but navigation can be challenging.
  • Potential Water Leaks: Some cabins have experienced water leaks.
  • Lack of Basic Amenities: Basic amenities like coffee are not always provided.
  • Overpriced: Guests feel the resort is overpriced for the accommodations.
  • Friendly Staff: Staff are friendly and accommodating.
  • Location: Situated in Swift Current, NL, providing waterfront cabin rentals.

Kilmory Resort is suitable for those seeking a peaceful waterfront retreat with scenic views. However, potential guests should be aware of the dated accommodations, limited activities, and potential overpricing. If you prioritize scenic views and are prepared for basic amenities and limited activities, Kilmory Resort may be a suitable option. However, those seeking a more comprehensive vacation experience may want to consider alternative lodging.

Cabins were clean and spacious enough, the views are excellent, just not a whole lot to do. The whole resort is water front, so the place could benefit from having small boats with outboard motors, just 12-14’ with 9hp engines. They do offer 2 - 2 person kayaks and a 2 person canoe but it’s a lot of work navigating due to current and wind. Not sure I would go again, I think I would look for a place with more to offer. Hope they do up the ante in the future.

Kilmory is very overrated! The staff are very friendly and accommodating, our cabin was clean but very dated . The sofa has seen better days , our bed was very uncomfortable. My husband was watching tv and water dripped on his head we reported the leak to the manager. She said if it rained again we could be moved to another cabin , we decided to stay in the cabin sense the rain stopped! We had a coffee maker with no coffee :( we had to drive back to the highway to get a coffee which was very inconvient. Very little to do here , not even a fire pit! I guess our expectations were higher . Kilmorey you can do better by having your prices reflecting of your accommodations, very overpriced!!!!!

Perhaps if named Kilmory "Cabins" rather than "Resort" our expectations would have better aligned with our experience. Our clean cabin overlooking a salt-water inlet was a restful location to immerse ourselves in quietude, but on-site activities for adults and teens were limited to kayak rental and a bocce ball set. The playground for children appears nice. The cabin was supplied with basic kitchen gear, but no meal prep supplies other than salt & pepper. Staff were friendly. Wi-Fi good, but cell signal on the grounds effectively non-existent. Guests must bring all meal provisions as the nearest store is a considerable drive from the resort. Food supplies are not available on the grounds. Reservations recommended.

Make sure to clarify your intent on visiting whitehills or they will rip you off on that ski lift they promise on the site with the stay. “lift passes for a group of six in a two bedroom chalet.” Only applies if you let them know in advance with no prior warning or info to prevent their scam. I asked how long it would take to drive from their park to the whitehills resort and mentioned my intent to snowboard and received no accommodations for my ski lift pass and was told I wouldn’t receive a discount or pass to use for next time or to even cover what I had expected to be accommodated at the resort. The resort is not responsible for any promotional advertising on their site as ironic as that sounds. Expected the passes we were promised on white hills site at the resort and were denied any discount likewise with returning to kilmoury resort after “failing” to mention our intent on using it until it was too late. Nothing more then a scam.

I actually think this place is very overrated. No store within 20 to 30 min which is not really the resorts fault but surprised they don't take advantage and provide a store with necessities. Coffee maker but no coffee which is kind of weird because I can't recall ever being in a cabin or hotel with no coffee. No campfires which is also different for a cabin/cottage setting. I was kind of disappointed especially when you pay over $200 per night. I guess there isn't much competition on the Avalon.
