We were there this past weekend and enjoyed our stay. We had 2 full service sites and a cabin. Very quiet campground with all the amenities needed. The cabin was very cute and clean. The family was very accommodating and friendly. Will definitely be returning.
My family and I stayed in the big cabin and a smaller cabin right next to it this weekend. My Dad recently passed away and we were up there to visit his favorite fishing spots and spend some quality time together. The big cabin had a full eat in kitchen with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, living room and huge covered porch. It wasn't the most modern and up to date, but you're camping and we loved it! We gave the large bed/bedroom to my mom as she's currently battling cancer, and she was very comfortable and was able to rest very well. The other bedroom had 2 sets of twin bunk beds that were not comfortable at all. I think they were not mattresses, but box springs.. either way, they were very hard and you felt like you were just laying on the wooden slats. That was the only negative thing about the whole trip. We would definitely rent the cabin again, we would just bring a foam mattress topper or something for the bunks. My neice and I swam in the pool, it was clean.. but cold.. she didn't seem to mind lol. Everyone we encountered at the campground were very friendly and helpful. They even brought some extra wood to us. Very nice people, my family appreciated everything and really enjoyed our weekend.
We had a wonderful time at the campground, Since we went off season(sept), We had no other campers.Maybe a couple here and there. We had full service. With no problems. The site was large and private. Amongst the trees, We loved the massive rock campfire pit (no boring metal ring) and gravel base for the trailer. They had cute cabins for rent, seasonal campers welcome , swimming pool, play area, Showers looked ok, but we used our own, Many touristy things to do. kinzua bridge, kyaking Allegheny river, Elk viewing, motorcycling the many curvly twisty roads. Great place for our 2nd part of our 12 days away. Jeff and Destini were super nice. I hope to see them again someday.
I expect much more from a KOA experience. The office had a smell to it, didn't know where to put garbage, and if it did have a pool, it was mixed with manufactured homes. Was very run down. Nope didn't see the garbage dump...usually at KOA's all you have to do is put it out at the front of your campsite and it is picked up daily. Nope, didn't see the pool around the manufactured home with a bunch of stuff around it. Your reply just confirmed what other people said about being nasty...although in this review reply is being sarcastic. May be that is the reason why there were only five sites around me filled and the rest empty. Won't be back. True KOAs are 10 times better than yours. Good luck.
Sadly this place has gone down hill greatly! We used to frequent this place with my in-laws for their family reunions 15+ years ago and I don't think anything has been done to the place since then. The cabins are dirty and broken down. Bugs and spiders everywhere inside and out. The bathrooms were so moldy and the toilets aren't even bolted to the ground. I almost tipped the toilet over and I'm only 140lbs. The only positive I can say is, the pool was clean and the nearby Rimrock Overlook trail was a great hike with kids. I'd suggest a different campground if you're looking to stay in the area.
Not a KOA I was expecting, been too a few others! Very run down, not well taken care off! The owners/Managers are older but nice Went to the bath house and the doors were covered in dead spiders and thick cobwebs! Had to use the restroom real bad as my husband was hooking up the camper The toilets wouldn’t flush and the bath house was filthy in the inside, there was hair all over the sink and toilet. The shower was disgusting and the shower curtain didn’t look like it was replaced in years! Really disappointed but quiet and no WiFi. The pool water was warm but dirty too!
The family that runs this place is friendly and chatty and they care about their guests and the grounds. Bathrooms and cabins are so clean and well maintained. It's also a great home base if you're a State Park enthusiast and it's a great spot for star gazing. Definitely recommend!
