I’ve been going to campground for over ten years. The scenery is incredible. There’s a pretty well maintained Trail to the ocean from camp. Katie was the camp host during my visit during February 25’ she was awesome and provided the best hospitality. Offering her own personal supplies, knowledge, and points of interest to her guest lodging there. She accommodated myself with no reservation on a Saturday, lucky me. I’d return just because of her, as well as the incredible views from camp. 10/10 would recommend.
Stayed 6 nights over Christmas and had a great time. Such a beautiful spot. No water at this campground, so bring plenty along with you. The pit toilets were clean, which is always nice, right? And the hosts, Tina and Ken, were the best. Very friendly and personable. Probably the nicest hosts at the Kirk Creek campground that I've ever encountered. And although I didn't see a single raccoon, I did see a fox!
Wonderful campground right on the cliffs overlooking the pacific in central California. No electric or water, and the spaces aren’t quite level, but it’s beautiful. Hiking opportunities abound nearby. Right now it’s about the last stop before highway 1 is closed from 2023 landslides, so if you want to go farther to Big Sur, you have to reroute to 101.
This was one of the most magical campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at. The ocean and mountains were out of a dream. The sunset and stars and moon light up the sky! We stayed in a tent around late august and it was perfect! Amazing experience!
Great location and great view. It’s a little isolated, especially with the Route 1 closure, but that adds to its charm. Note that you need to bring your own water as there is no drinkable water onsite. Some of the campsites are a bit small for the max 8 people per site and a lot of them have sloped tent sites so be prepared for that. But you can’t beat the view.
