Read what our guests have shared about their experiences at Knebal Springs Campground:
- "A nice campground fairly close to The Dalles that has big trees (shade) and a watering trough fed by a nearby spring. FS says the water is not to drink but it sure tastes good to me... It's also close to an Mtb trail."
- "This area was designed for a horse camp. If you don't have horses, it's probably not the best camp at $24.00 dollars a night. It's a nice area, but again, it was built for horse riding as most campsites here have open horse stalls built into them."
- "This is right against the Dalles water shed so 90% of the area around this camp says (No Trespassing). Hope this saves someone some gas money... :)"
These reviews highlight both the unique features and considerations of camping at Knebal Springs. While it may not be the best fit for everyone, those who appreciate nature, adventure, and a touch of rustic charm will find it an ideal destination.
Knebal Springs Campground is perfect for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse themselves in Oregon's breathtaking wilderness. This area was designed for a horse camp. If you don't have horses its problably not the best camp at 24.00 dollars a night. Its a nice area, but again, it was built for horse riding as most camp sites here have open horse stalls built into them. It was a long drive pulling a trailer to find this out. This is right against the Dalles water shed so 90% of the area around this camp says (No Trespassing). Hope this saves someone some gas money... :)
Not a campground for horse people, especially with large trailers. Very small and all that were camping when we went were non-equestrian.
Went for a horseback ride, had a great day, came across a lot of bikers on the trails, but everyone was courteous. No electricity, but the few corrals were nice and the campground was very neat and clean.
Sites are spaced out, super clean vault toilet, horse trough is fed by a spring, useful for cooling drinks in.
