Better than expected. Couldn't find a single trail, so we just walked along the creek. There were several interesting areas. You could hear interstate traffic at times which, for me, is a con.
A lonely, unpopular place to go for a hike. We go there so we can hike with our dogs off leash. There are two parking locations. One when you first get there. The other is across a creek and I don't recommend taking a car across it. We have an SUV.
Giving 2 stars because this spot was what I was looking for in terms of remoteness and seclusion. However, the trails are not maintained, overgrown and I was not prepared for the amount of seed ticks that I had attached to my ankles afterwards. If you want to go, understand you are going to spend a lot of time clearing spiders out of your path. Bringing deep woods tick spray with Deet and wearing long pants and socks is the very least you’ll need to try to combat the ticks. I had long socks and hiking shoes plus regular bug spray and that didn’t even remotely repel the ticks from finding their way to my skin.
Real Kentucky Backwoods, not far from the city. A great place to hike and see mushrooms (after moist conditions). Wear long pants, boots, and be prepared for ticks. A rocky stream runs along the road, and serves as a great place to cool your feet in the summer.
It's a nice drive and place to see animals. Not too far from the city and very quiet, only one trail seemed to not be overgrown someone should go and clear the trails, I see signs that say no hunting but people seem to ignore them :( ....other than that it's a cool place.
