Kolob Gate Gardens Introduce

Nestled in the picturesque town of La Verkin, Utah, Kolob Gate Gardens offers a unique camping and RV park experience just a stone's throw away from the breathtaking Zion National Park. This hidden gem is perfect for nature enthusiasts, hikers, and those seeking a peaceful retreat in the great outdoors.

Kolob Gate Gardens boasts a variety of accommodations, including primitive campsites and glamping options. The campground is situated next to a running creek, providing a soothing ambiance for campers. The glamping sites, located over a charming wooden bridge, offer a more luxurious camping experience while still keeping you close to nature.

For adventure seekers, Kolob Gate Gardens is ideally located near popular hiking trails such as the Left Fork North Creek trailhead into Zion National Park's Subway and the Lambs Knoll climbing site. The area is also known for occasional visits from wildlife, including cattle and even bison, adding to the unique charm of the location.

While the campground offers a porta potty, it's important to note that there is no potable water available on-site. Campers are advised to bring their own water and a camp stove shield, as the area can get windy in the evenings.

Customer feedback highlights the friendly and knowledgeable co-hosts, Matt and Travis, who are always ready to assist with local information and ensure a pleasant stay. However, some reviews mention that the primitive campsites can be overgrown with thorny grass, and the porta potty may not always be in the best condition. Awesome hip camp next to running creek with friendly co-hosts Matt & Travis. Also several glamping sites over the wooden bridge. Super clean porta potty. No potable water. Super close to Lambs Knoll climbing site and to the Left Fork North creek trailhead into Zion NPS Subway. There is occasional 4 legged visitors e.g. cattle and even a bison. Was a bit windy in evening so bring a camp stove shield.

So, our original plan was to stay here 3 nights, but we changed our plans and just booked one... And man am I glad. Talked with the owner before booking, he sounded very genuine and had lots of great info on the area... Really great guy. But... He's not there running it, and I feel like whoever he left in charge is doing him a disservice. You can for sure see the work and potential, but really poorly maintained. Primitive spots (what we picked) were completely uncleared and overgrown with thorny grass, I was picking them out of my shoes for days from just setting up the tent. Porta potty was... Horrifying. An absolute biohazard. We didn't even bother with the showers after seeing the state of that. Nothing is clearly marked, so it's questionable on if you're even supposed to be in certain areas... Just... Good idea, and a good start, but needs some proper care.

For the price, this place is a great and convenient location to camp near Zion. All water is trucked in, you have to bring your own drinking water. They gave us a free bundle of firewood. I know this sounds weird, but they had the nicest/cleanest port-a-potty I had ever seen. A small amount of campsites. Plenty of port-a-potties. One shower and one dishwashing station. The shower is very charming for a shower fed by 55 gallon drums of water: follow usage instructions posted because otherwise the water is scalding! Just FYI: don't have wet hands when you flip the on/off water switch in the dish washing station. If your hands are wet, you will get an electric shock. At night, there are small solar powered lights that line the campsite roads, providing both lighting and a beautiful atmosphere like.

A laid-back Campground with a shower and porta potties. It's in a beautiful location right next to a stream. It's conveniently located just outside of Zion. It made a great base for going both to the park and other nearby beautiful trails. The other side of the creek at flooded and also it appeared to have a damaged the footbridge, so that part of the campground is not currently available. The side that we were on was in good shape and lovely. I recommend it.

Stayed here for 2 of 3 nights visiting Zion with the other night at Watchman campground in the park. We are a couple in a van. This place was way better than Watchman, wish we had stayed here all 3 nights.
