Gorgeous, quiet, and perfect for a weekend trip! Our site was a short walk to the river and had a beautiful view of the bluffs. The bathrooms were clean and maintained daily, but bring extra toilet paper and soap with you in case it runs out in the morning before restock.
Super steep entry road but doable. This is a rainforest, high humidity. Camping spots are generally grassy. We had a large noisy group next to us, no ranger or campground host we could spot. Saw an Armadillo. River can be swum in but wasn't very deep when we went (Labor Day). Bathrooms with indoor plumbing but TO ran out, bring your own. View of the cliff was interesting, and very very green. Not for RVs. Overland w/popup or van probably ok? Designed for tents.
Great facilities, very pretty, grabbed a campsite in the trees and felt private. Can't park right at campsite. Low cars would have trouble getting to and from the step and rocky road down. Has fire pits with grills, lamp holders, and tables at every campsite. Self pay $20 a night.
Look... anything on the Buffalo River is great to me! This is a smaller campground. Great for tents or camper vans. This would NOT be a campground for an r.v.! The road down to camp/ river is all gravel and very steep and narrow in spots. Some areas are also rough and rocky. There is a bathroom at camp. This place will be crazy busy on weekends during peak season. I would also not take a car down this road, although I have seen them down at camp.
Tent camp sites only or you can park and have access to trails and the national Buffalo river very beautiful and clean!
Great campground location on the river! The drive in from the highway is not designed for low clearance vehicles or cars. $20/night, running water and bathrooms made it perfect for our trip.
A little nicer than Steel Creek, but much steeper drive to get there. If rain is in the forecast, I'd not do this unless a 4WD vehicle. I did dry in a minivan however. This is a takeout point for floating in the spring, so a little busy at times. If you miss your takeout here...don't. You will pay in time and $$. We missed it and took out at Camp Orr (no one was there and it's private property). We had to leave the kayaks and hike up, up, uphill until we found some awesome guy to give us a ride. Then back to pickup the boats. Basically wasted 3 hours by missing Kyles...and worked our behinds off.
Nice place to stay off the Buffalo. Really good bathrooms and plenty of options to pitch a tent. Very serene and quiet . You will most likely not have service, which in this case, was a delight .
Great camping areas, fills up quick. End your float trip here for a good time.
