La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham St. Augustine

Nice hotel in a safe, pretty area. It's a little bit off the main road, so it's fairly quiet. Room was clean and updated. Breakfast was the usual hotel offering. Breakfast nook was spotless and the attendant kept items stocked and clean. Good coffee. I recommend if looking for a place to stay.

The room was disgusting! The smell was like cat urine mixed with mildew to the point that it made me sick! When I address the situation I was told the people before us ate pizza so that the housekeeper decided to brew coffee to get rid of the smell and when I got back from my conference to smell would be gone. But it was not when I returned and I had to deal with it because there were no other rooms available according to the housekeeper that I spoke with. When I addressed it in an email to the general manager or whoever Mr Patel ,I was told that I could not get compensated for my stay because the issues were not reported even though I did and all he said was " okay " so I would not advise anyone to stay there it is disgusting not only my room but my parents in law's rooms also. So the church and community that booked those rooms for my fellow guests will no longer be booking at that hotel. I advise against it unless you want to be sick!!!

Enjoyed for one night. Beds are comfortable with good lumbar support. Little musty, but good overall. I did, however, hear our neighbor snoring.

I ignored the reviews and stayed here with my kids for the night. HUGE mistake. Do *not* stay here with kids. There is is zero insulation on the floors and when they simply walk across, it sounds like thumping. So the guy beneath us complained 4x because my kids were walking (no, they were not behaving like a bunch of hooligans treating the bedroom like a playground.) Management came up and wanted to complain to me and I had to sit there and show her how I could hear thumping in the room from them walking and how it's not my fault their hotel has such poor insulation. Apparently there's no underlayment (my husband is in flooring) because they cut corners on production. She didn't care. Apparently my kids are supposed to act like the floor is lava and not walk. I am disgusted, quite frankly, and will never use La Quinta again. They should just advertise on their website that they aren't kid friendly, or put families on the bottom floor because they take any noise complaints seriously. They should have told the guy it's not the Hilton, but instead they come harass me because I have little humans. Also, the mattress was *terrible* - like the cheapest money can buy. It was supposed to have two queens, but instead it was two fulls (I know it's not a queen), we have a full a home *with* a metal frame platform that we never stub our toes on). There was no hot tub despite the fact that it was advertised as a selling point. The hot water smells heavily of sulfur. 🤢 Multiple of my family members kept stubbing their toes on the cheap metal frame bed platforms. The pillows weren't bad and the place was clean, the room was spacious, but it's farther than I wanted from St. Augustine.

First, the hotel looks nothing like the pictures! It’s relatively clean but the bed I had, king size, was old soft and made lots of noise just sitting on it. The employees at front desk, well the male that helped me was great, however the next morning shift (two women) were terrible, rude, judgmental, and poor English. Breakfast was ok. If you have dogs, it’s not bad considering that we have to compromise for our four legged family members.
