Steve at La Siesta is a fabulous host. We had a sweet trailer that we rented (reasonable) when the weather became refreshingly cool at night in February. Some years back Steve created a beautiful pond surrounded by pruned mesquite trees in the camping area. He hosts trailer campers and tent camping folks who may be on their gravel bikes. There is a community room with a variety of services including coffee in the morning. Their are plenty of interesting folks to talk to. First rate.
I found La Siesta 6 years ago through a group camping event. Since then I have stayed there and rented RVs that are on site and average of 3-4 times a year. Steve Rendon and his staff have always been wonderful and very accommodating. I have referred friends who have had the same experience. The grounds are very well maintained, and the setting is very tranquil and relaxing. My whole family has been out together and I am able to join other friends and we always have a wonderful time. The town of Arivaca is close and we enjoy supporting the local businesses when we stay. This has become a favorite vacation spot to get away from life for a bit.
Steve is a wonderful host and will help you happily to resolve any issue you may have. Relaxing and picturesque surroundings along with a rustic clubhouse made my stay fun and so stress-free.
I spent a peaceful and relaxing few nights at La Siesta in my travel trailer during a month-long camping grip across southern Arizona. The views from my spot (I think it was spot #1) were stunning at all hours of the day, the campground was quiet, everyone was friendly, and I enjoyed listening to the coyotes and birds. The campground is a great launch point for a lot of activities in the area including exploring the town of Arivaca, visiting various locations at Buenos Aires NWR (which was my main reason for being in the area), and I even took a day trip to Madera Canyon and Green Valley which were easily reachable for a day trip. I hope to return to the area again in the future and will definitely stay at La Siesta again.
I’ve been staying with Steve at La Siesta campgrounds for more than 10 years now. It’s been amazing to see how much effort and time Steve and his crew popular place in the last 10 years. My family and I spend 6 to 10 weekends a year down there with him. He’s stills come out (even at 10:30 at night in the rain) to greet us and make sure we have everything we need for our stay. I can’t recommend him and La Siesta enough.
Owner is a great guy who strives to satisfy all his customers beautiful campground with a down to earth rustic atmosphere and a beautiful small pond where your kids can go fishing, would highly recommend.
Wonderful campground. If you are looking for a place off the beaten path, this is it! It was a great setting with views of the surrounding hills & mountains. Steve, the host is very friendly & accommodating- he creates a community environment where you feel comfortable taking to anyone from long-term campers, to hunters, to people just staying a few nights to enjoy the peaceful area. It is not a resort- so may be considered rustic to some, but the charm of the location more then makes up for it. I stayed here for 6 weeks in an RV/ a motorcycle in tow. Took numerous beautiful rides - there’s lots to see within a few hours of winding roads
