Location and Accessibility

The Lafayette KOA Holiday boasts an excellent, highly accessible location at 1825 St Mary St, Scott, LA 70583, USA. It is strategically positioned just five miles west of Lafayette and is located on the Southwest corner of Exit 97 off Interstate 10 (I-10), the Scott/Cankton Exit.

This prime location provides significant advantages for both travelers passing through and those planning an extended cultural vacation:

  • Interstate Access: Its location right off I-10 makes it incredibly easy to reach and is highly convenient for RVs of all sizes, eliminating the stress of navigating tight city streets.
  • Cajun Food Hub: The town of Scott is proudly known as the "Boudin Capital of the World," and the campground is within walking distance or a short drive of several highly-rated local markets and restaurants, providing immediate access to authentic Cajun cuisine.
  • Lafayette Proximity: Being just minutes from Lafayette allows easy access to the city’s major attractions, including Vermilionville, Acadian Village, and numerous festivals like Festivals International and the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival.
  • Local Conveniences: Shopping, fuel stations, and other essential travel services are readily available nearby, including a hotel and other commercial centers within walking distance.

While some sites may be closer to highway noise, the convenience and the tranquility offered in the deeper parts of the park, especially around the lake, often outweigh this minor drawback for most visitors.

This resort is highly recommended for families and anyone planning a stay of a few days or more, as the range of activities—from swimming to mini-golf and lake fun—makes it a destination in itself. Wonderful experience! This is the second time we have stayed with y’all. Very friendly and helpful. Sites are beautiful and very restful. Many activities for children and a great place to spend a week. Only wish we had more time there. And the fishing is great!

Good looking park except for the tent camping area and cabin requirements. You can't choose the cabins unless you stay for 2 nights or more, and we just needed a one night stay. That sounds like a bad way to do business, because we just went across the street and rented a room at the hotel instead. It was walking distance to many things and we were able to get a room for a one night stay. So if you're there for just a day, stay away from this KOA.

We stayed for one night on a stop over to Galveston. There are multiple areas in this park. Older area up front, a little narrow, but very well kept. Obvious newer concrete area some with cabanas, tables, etc. We enjoyed sitting outside at night over looking the pond. We used the park for a base as we explored the area attractions and restaurants. They have two pools. The temperatures were quite hot and the larger pool was warmer than wanted, but okay. Lots of families around enjoying the park.

Having family in Lafayette, this KOA has been my go-to location for many years. This last visit, unfortunately, will be my last. I have seen the service and quality of guests decline a lot over time. This is a popular party spot for locals, especially on holidays and summer weekends. The park is pretty large and it would be easy enough to separate the "weekend warriors" from the quiet travelers just looking for a peaceful place to sleep. My wife and I were obviously not party goers, yet were still placed in the middle of party-central despite there being quieter spots elsewhere. The main amenity of the park is certainly the lake. Pretty easy to catch some fish. If you end up staying here, I recommend the newer back-side of the lake area. You will pay a premium but will have a more peaceful stay. As for location, there are a lot of good restaurants and places to eat in Scott, making this a prime location. It is quite noisy since it is right next to I-10. The entrance is ridiculous and tricky if you don't pay attention to the double traffic circle. This, of course, is no fault of the owners.

We stayed in the RV park. The whole campground is clean and well maintained. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. We stayed as an overnight stop on our way to Gulf Shores but this could be a very nice vacation destination. So many things to do….swimming pools, lake with boat rentals, mini golf, and I’m sure more that we didn’t discover. Highly recommend this KOA.
