Great spot up in the mountains to camp with the family. Waters are crystal clear and the lake is full of trout. Kayak or canoe fishing is best but bank works too. Bit of a hard drive to get there unless the Road Department smooths the road. Road at times is in bad shape and you must travel slowly. 4wd vehicles with high clearance works best. Campground is 17 more miles past fish hatchery. Stay right at the fork and drive that road about 7 miles (could take 45+ minutes due to ruts and potholes) till you see the sign on your left. Probably 26-28 miles off 101. Bring a setup to catch trout.

Was very nice! The bathroom was clean, I would take your own toilet paper lol there is like 3 campsites with fire pits. Lots of salamanders in the lake and great fishing. Make sure to stop off and see Elk river! The water is so clean and blue and pretty green. Road isn't that bad, some pot holes and rock slides, just don't go to fast. Will definitely go again

I had the privilege of visiting the lake for the first time yesterday. I was camped at Daphne Grove and drove about an hour and a half to get to the lake. Beautiful scenic drive thru mountain roads and well worth the trip. Can't wait to actually camp here one day :D

Great peaceful place for fishing or just resting! Deep in the mountains, it is a long trip, but well worth it! If you love the wilderness, this is a great opportunity for you!

Up Elk River Road quite a stretch! Lovely, rustic location. Small lake but serene and private.
