Great camping. Lots of elbow room. Good walking trails. A place to relax. Love this place.
The lake is full thanks to the winter rains. Newer docks and pontoon boats to rent. Great family activity and fishing for trout and bass. One of my favorite places in SB County.
Beautiful lake with clear water and surrounded by green hills. We stopped here for about 30 minutes and hiked down from the parking lot all the way to the water. Located in the valley, there are numerous little streams that bring rain water from the hills into the lake. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.
Wonderful spot for camping. Entry fee is only $10 per vehicle. The place is equipped with almost everything a camper needs. Rest rooms, playing areas, gas station, restaurant & grocery store. Recreation is also available with fishing tools & boat rentals. Great place for RV campers with spacious parking areas. Whether you are only spending a day or staying overnight for camping, the scenery & ambience @ the lake is wonderful. April to July I'd say are the best months to camp there
Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area 👍👍 If you’re heading to Solvang from Santa Barbara, most likely Google maps will direct you to take CA- 154. It’s a scenic route and you’ll see the lake on the right side. There is an entrance fee but since I wasn’t really staying for a long time, I really appreciate the ranger who gave me a short time pass just to see the water and the facilities; so that was a really courteous gesture. There are multiple campsite areas, a landing dock for boats, ample parking, convenience store, gas station and there’s one restaurant by the lake.
