I visited on March 14, 2021. Beautiful, relaxing place! Great for meditation and scenic views. Serene, calm, and peaceful. Worth the 35-minute drive from Palmdale. It snows in winter, but summer is perfect to escape the desert heat. You can also fish for catfish at the California Aqueduct.

Had a great time fishing and relaxing. Caught some bluegill and a snapping turtle. Lots of koi (?). Great place to hike and relax with family and dogs.

Small campground with only 8 sites. Most sites are shaded. Sites 3-6 are the most level. Pit toilets. Right off the highway, so road noise can be an issue. It was relatively quiet while we were there.

This map location is for the Big Pines Visitor Center. Lake Campground is a little ways down (west) on Big Pines Hwy, just before Jackson Lake. Great little campground. Right off the road, but quiet at night. Near Jackson Lake for a nice stroll.

Really great campground! Only about 5 sites, so it's very cozy. Each site has some privacy. Please throw away your trash! We had an animal visitor that went through some trash and then started shaking my truck! Hilarious (and a bit terrifying), but could be super scary if you were tent camping!
