My son and I have been coming here for years. He was 5 when we started "glamping" in their cub huts, and now he's 12 and still wants to go. The staff couldn't be better, the cub huts are ideal for those who appreciate mod-cons like tv, climate control and a mini-fridge, but since you need to use the campground bathrooms (which are very well maintained), you're 'roughing it" just a bit. Their store is open 24 hours, and you get preferred parking at the amusement park, which is a definite perk. (Go to the right most lane and you'll be directed to the preferred lot.) We also bought our tickets from the campground, and doing so, definitely saved a lot of time and money. We bought tickets for $35 each and the next day was free (!) When you get to the amusement park, you'll walk by the long lines waiting to buy tickets and walk ahead to scan your paper teasy. At the turnstiles. Easy peasy. The grounds have a playground, a gaga pit, a volleyball court, basketball hoop and corn hole. The store has groceries, souvenirs, and chess and checkers to play. I'll keep going as long as my kid wants to.
We had a great family memory here!! We would return! Fireworks can be seen at campground however it is way better at the park. You can also view them in the parking lot! All staff were friendly we connected with and you also get VIP parking to the park. It was great to leave and come back to lake as you wished. If you are a season pass holder, you get a discount so I felt the price was great! They allow you to have dogs which I love!! I believe this is for certain sites. We did the RV. Passing by the cabins, I do like the step up they have here. Only thing I would recommend is cleanliness of the bathrooms and showers. We were there for 5 days. I am unsure if the bathrooms were ever cleaned.
Lake Compounds campground has been so kind to us! Everyone here is so friendly and nice and they are very understanding and helpful with everything we need. It is a very quaint and quiet place for being located at lake compounds! I honestly can’t rave enough about how much we love it here, i would recommend this place to anyone traveling in the area! It has been amazing! There are beautiful views of the stars at night and the sky in the morning also! Thank you so much Bear Creek staff for making this in my opinion one of the best places to camp in the area!!
The place was quite nice, though there where some overflowing trash cans and the bathrooms where a little dirty, but non the less it was alright. A highlight I do remember was seeing a stray calico cat run near the volleyball court. It sniff me which was quite nice. If the owners of the camp ground find the cat, I think they should adopt it, the cat would be a cute mascot for the little shop they have.
3rd stop here. Most likely our last. Nothing better than checking in to your spot and seeing somebody there with no intention of leaving. Trash all over the playground area grass is 8 in to 12 in tall and needs to be cut in most areas. Vinyl signs pealing, sign from top on general store missing with just mounting rails left on building. Maybe play some corn hole? What would be cool is some camper wasn't using the storage area ars their personal pet park. Security nonexistent, probably why no one follows the rules. Kiddie pools in RV spots, tents in cabin spots. There aren't a lot of campgrounds in the surrounding area, but we'll worth going out to sun outdoors mystic or Grandview campground in goodspeed. These are real campgrounds where rules are actually enforced. Disappointing because this campground isn't that old
