The one knife in the kitchen was so dull I couldn't cut summer sausage. Few or no utensils. We were in the deluxe 2 room cabin. All the furniture was old lumpy and scratched. The knobs on the lamps were broke so we couldn't turn them on. It would be nice to see the lake from the cabin deck. The activities were great especially the pool. Buffet was good.
The cabin was nice but a bit dirty, The location was great for hitting the trails in the area, the only draw back was the path from cabins to lodge was closed off, so I had to walk the road. Close to Red River Gorge so perfect location for home base to explore the area. Best food Miguel Pizza, Thathers BBQ, and Daniel Boone Coffee shop, all the staff were friendly with the exception of the man running the chair lift at the bottom. If you want the Sky bridge to yourself, hike up at first light, I had the area to myself for 30 minutes then only saw two people at the bridge, hiked a few more areas, the Battleship rock and Devil's Gulch then back out to the lodge area for breakfast.
Clean nicely done camping site with power and electric. Very friendly people that welcome you to their state park. Beautiful views, archery, frisbee golf, put put golf, just a few things they offer. Great Lodge, to have breakfast. We came to fish the mighty Cumberland Lake . Brought 15# of beautiful fillets back home .
A once in-a-lifetime stay for my wife and me. Heather at check in was welcoming. In the restaurant we first met Dwight and Tella- both truly made us feel like family from the start. We immediately loved Wesley, for his welcoming, kind and professional lighthearted spirit ( We ended up adopting him as our 4th son.) Angie is so kind and seems to make sure everyone stays on their feet. Dale has the greatest personality and we had several fun, early morning talks while I constructed my coffee with quadruple sugar and cream. Daphne, with a perpetual smile and an infectious, happy essence around her, is truly unique in her caring attitude. Thanks to Awesome Martha and your touching stories about your dad, The One and Only- CHARLEY !!!! THIS place and the people is our new home away from home!!
We had a great view from the balcony, very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed our stay. They had tons of stuff for the kids to do.
