Lake Gaston Americamps Introduce

Hello, Virginia adventurers and lake lovers! Are you dreaming of a perfect getaway where you can enjoy the beauty of a vast lake, relax by the water, and create lasting memories with family and friends? Look no further than Lake Gaston Americamps, nestled in Bracey, Virginia. This family-owned and operated campground offers a unique opportunity to experience the charm of Lake Gaston, one of the most outstanding lakes in the country. While some aspects might lean towards a more rustic or community-oriented feel due to the presence of many annual sites, the campground strives to provide a welcoming atmosphere and a range of amenities. It's a place where friendly staff aim to make your stay enjoyable, whether you're looking for a quick stopover or a longer vacation by the lake. This article will explore what Lake Gaston Americamps has to offer, from its prime location to its services and features, helping you decide if it's the right fit for your next Virginia camping adventure.

Lake Gaston Americamps is conveniently situated at 9 Lakeside Ln, Bracey, VA 23919, USA, placing it directly on the north shore of beautiful Lake Gaston. Its location is just 5 miles east of the I-85 exit #4, making it relatively easy to access for travelers from across Virginia and beyond. You can typically find it by looking for it on the right side of Route 903. This prime lakeside positioning is a significant draw, offering direct access to over 20,000 acres of "high quality" water, perfect for a myriad of water-based activities. The lake itself stretches 34 miles long and is approximately one and a half miles wide at its lower end, boasting over 350 miles of shoreline. While the campground has a Bracey, VA address, its proximity to the Virginia-North Carolina border means it's also a convenient destination for those in northern North Carolina. The ease of reaching the campground from major interstate highways ensures that you can spend less time on the road and more time enjoying the tranquil lakeside environment.

The lake is well-stocked with game fish, including striped bass, largemouth bass, crappie, sunfish, and catfish, making it a dream destination for anglers.
  • Waterfront Sites: Offering the unique experience of camping directly by the lake, providing incredible views and immediate access to the water for certain sites.
  • Swimming Pool: A "nice swimming pool" is available, providing a refreshing alternative to the lake, especially on hot summer days.

First time staying. Couple of issues. The water is from a well and does not go through any filtration b/c it made my water filters completely muddy. Asked the drink desk and was told that’s normal. (Ummm, no it’s not). Second issue their quiet time is midnight. Apparently my site neighbor that it was cool to be the campground music provider. Got to listen to extremely loud music. Great campground management!! Keep up the good job.

This place is not for folks traveling and want to see new places. There are way too many annual sites. Most of them have metal sheds covering them and it feels like I’m in a run down place. Definitely not worth the price we paid especially in the second week of November. My husband was excited to see this place because he thought it would be an amazing place to stay next summer. It’s nothing like the website described. And we will not be returning. I’m sure staff is amazing by all I read in the comments. I only dealt with 2 people but they were amazing! Thank you!

Our family have been camping here for the last 3 years. We love being on the lake! This place has a pool, Putt putt , playground, boat access, & fishing. The staff are very friendly & accommodating. The grounds & bathrooms are always very clean. You can tell this place is well kept. We have never had a single issue & have probably camped here 6 or more times now.
