We stayed at spot 45 with a tent. It was surrounded by cactus. LThe first night was alright really beautiful and not too miserable but we slept with black ants all night didn’t realize till we woke up that they found a way in. Definitely neat to see the wildlife but we went on the lake to fish with a boat and nothing bit except for the plants in the lake 🥲 the boats are also covered in ants that’s how bad the ants are there. They know it’s an issue but they haven’t found a way to resolve it yet. If you book a Saturday you have to book the whole weekend if I’m not mistaken. We went Friday and left today because it was 104 really wished we stayed tonight too since I paid for it but it’s too hot to stay and not be able to swim in the lake since it’s a lake they use for drinking. Aside from the ants and no biting fish, the young ladies at the kiosk coming in are nice and helpful. The items there are a little pricey at the kiosk $11 for sunscreen 😬

Super nice people running the show. Busy Friday and Saturday otherwise few people. Showers are free. Toilets are clean. My wife likes the view. Look for a flat campsite if camping. Most of the sites have a spigot for water😊

It was my first time here with a camp group. Most cancelled because of the heat. 9/9/24-9/16/24. 105-111 degrees. Can't swim in the Lake. It's a drinking water resource. We had partial hook ups. No sewer, but a dump station on site. There was a bathroom w/showers up the hill in the center of the turnabout. These sites are really unlevel. My jack was fully extended, but only 4" of Lego blocks. The worst problem was the ants. Everyone ended up with them in their trailers. At least in this section. I was in #92. Great view of the lake. The staff is super nice and helpful. U can buy firewood there and they deliver. I would go again in a cold month. Hopefully no ants, lol. El Centro and Seely close by for fuel and groceries. If u have a trailer longer than 28', I would not stay in this section. U will NOT make the turnabout. My friend had a 39'. He had to back down the hill. The ranger said he has a 34' and no way can do it. Just a heads up. Nice playground for kids and picnic areas. It really is a nice place. I think heat and ants made it a lil unpleasant, but I'd go again. 😎

I don't plan on going back. Soooo many ants, flies, spiders, and insects to constantly fight off. Walking into webs in between trees. Spiders making webs right in front of your tent. Or dangling in front of your face to greet you. Road noise, air plane and helicopter noise, throughout the day/night. Landscaping noise. Hammering right next to our tent, noise. They spoke at shouting volume while present. Thanks. Staff on cart noise, starts early. Ranger Gary popping out from the side of our car at night, to say he can hear us talking at night. Why was he creepin' ? He didn't scold anyone else after 9pm. People disturbed us plenty at night. Bathrooms were ok. Cleaned at night. They seem maintained during the day. They are well stocked. Each bathroom has a shower. No easy access to the lake. Especially not for disabled me. I would never bring the kids.

Our first time camping here. Spaces are large and clean. Staff is friendly. We felt safe. We camped with a tent and a travel trailer. Very quiet and peaceful. Views are beautiful towards the east. It has a small park for the kids. It would be great if they had a small water park for the heat, the kids would've love that. Besides that we had a great time and really enjoyed our camping trip. We will come visit again.
